In many situations, a door gap can become a dangerous trap when closing. Professional finger protection helps to prevent injuries and accidents that can have severe consequences. With only two components – the protective roller blind on the non-hinged side and a fixed cover profile on the hinged side – the innovative finger protection solutions from the brand Planet completely cover the gap at the inner closing edge between the leaf and the frame, preventing anyone from accidentally reaching into the gap. The entire Planet finger protection portfolio can be used in a very versatile and flexible way, both in new buildings and for retrofitting.
Effective protection with minimal installation effort
The hinge-side cover profile FSA 8800 [S] from the Planet finger protection range impresses above all with its innovative fastening technology. It offers reliable protection against injuries and meets the requirements of EN 16005 for power-operated swing doors and DGUV No. 102-602 for childcare facilities.
Installation is very convenient and quick. Instead of the previous screwing method, the new technology allows the profile to be simply inserted between the door hinges. It takes only about a third of the installation time of comparable protective profiles and requires no specific specialist knowledge. With the optionally available assembly tool, positioning the assembly foot is even faster and easier. This is glued as standard but can also be screwed down in the case of poorly adhering floors or attached by means of mounting brackets.
Even when trimming the cover profile is necessary, users benefit from a newly available plastic shortening gauge. It allows effortless shortening of the profile without the need for measuring. In addition to significant time savings, the use of the shortening gauge ensures a precise fit and enables safe handling. The smart design also guarantees easy handling of the finger protection solutions in the long term. For instance, if hinge adjustments or other subsequent work on the door element become necessary, the protective profiles can be removed and reinstalled without tools.
A system for every hinge
The system is suitable for almost all applications, which greatly simplifies the entire planning process. Only the hinge diameter is needed to determine the right model. New to the product family is the FSA 8800 [S16] for 16 mm roller hinges. This means that the finger protection solution can now be used for rollers with diameters from 16 to 22.5 mm – ideal for almost all rebated and flush doors with roller hinges.
The screwless FSA 8800 [S30] plug-in system is available for users of the Dr. Hahn door hinge 4 AT and allows the finger protection system to be perfectly fitted to swing doors with elevated pivot points of up to 36 mm. The corresponding additional profile for special hinges can be fastened without drilling with a glued and subsequently adjustable clip holder. The FSR 6000 finger protection roller protector, which is also designed for quick installation and is ideally suited for use indoors and outdoors, is recommended as a suitable solution for securing the opposite hinge side on the secondary closing edge.
The new cover profile FSA 8800 [S16] for 16 mm roller hinges, as well as the practical shortening gauge, will be available from the beginning of July.
