• YIELCO Metzler Infrastruktur IV offers an attractive investment opportunity in sustainable and global infrastructure
  • Robust pipeline of investment opportunities
  • Strong investor demand: interest also from new client segments and geographic regions

Metzler Asset Management GmbH ("Metzler AM"), a subsidiary of the Frankfurt-based bank B. Metzler seel. Sohn & Co. AG, and YIELCO Investments Group ("YIELCO Investments"), a private markets specialist, announce the first closing of their jointly launched sustainable infrastructure fund of funds YIELCO Metzler Infrastruktur IV ("YMIF IV"). The multi-manager programme with a target capitalisation of EUR 300 million builds on the successful history and track record of existing infrastructure investment programmes of the YIELCO Investments Group and aims to generate attractive long-term investment returns by investing in a globally diversified portfolio of primary and secondary investments in infrastructure target funds with a focus on sustainable infrastructure in Europe and North America.

A robust pipeline of investment opportunities already exists. With the first closing completed, the first commitment will be made immediately in the third quarter of 2025 following a careful preliminary review. Two to three further commitments (primary and/or secondaries) are planned by the end of the year, both from existing manager relationships and from new partnerships in the small- and mid-cap segment. The fund is aiming for a diversified portfolio of at least ten fund investments with around 150 underlying infrastructure investments across various infrastructure sectors in order to achieve long-term risk-adjusted returns.

The first closing was driven by strong investor interest, with commitments from a broad range of institutional investors. Thanks to Metzler’s extensive client network, the fund was able to attract the attention of new investors and new client segments in addition to existing YIELCO clients. Metzler Pension Management GmbH also acted as a seed investor in the fund with its vehicles.

Uwe Fleischhauer, founding partner and member of the Executive Board of YIELCO Investments, comments: "Infrastructure will remain a key growth theme for institutional investors in the coming decades. The strong investor demand reflects the attractiveness of this asset class and we look forward to realising a solid pipeline of investment opportunities. The predecessor fund, YIELCO Infrastruktur III, is now fully allocated and comprises 15 target funds, including two secondary transactions. The successful investment activity underlines our proven investment strategy and YIELCO’s long-standing expertise in private markets."

Philip Schätzle, Managing Director and Head of Sales at Metzler AM, adds: "With YIELCO Metzler Infrastruktur IV, we are contributing our extensive experience in sustainability-oriented investment strategies and expanding our portfolio to include sustainable infrastructure investments. The collaboration between Metzler and YIELCO enables us to offer a highly diversified and ESG-integrated investment solution that is tailored to the needs of our clients."

The fund’s investment strategy promotes environmental and social characteristics throughout the investment process with a dedicated ESG approach and discloses these in accordance with Article 8 of the EU Disclosure Regulation. The portfolio is constructed through a combination of primary and secondary investments covering a broad range of infrastructure sectors, including energy, transport, digital and social infrastructure and decarbonisation-focused assets.
