The Opel Zafira impresses customers as a modern lounge on wheels and as a comfortable, practical MPV for family and leisure activities alike. Now it is even more versatile and attractive, especially in economic terms. In addition to the all-electric, locally emissions-free Zafira Electric, the multi-talented family van is also available with a latest-generation 2.2-litre diesel engine. With 132 kW (180 hp) of power and 400 Newton metres of maximum torque, the newly developed engine delivers powerful performance with economical fuel consumption. Thus, customers can drive their own Zafira from an entry-level price of €41,990 (RRP incl. VAT in Germany) and Opel is giving buyers complete freedom to decide for themselves which drive system currently best suits their needs.

Powerful turbo diesel: The Opel Zafira as an extra-speedy family van

The Euro 6e-compliant 2.2 turbo diesel offers with its new-generation direct injection and an optimised exhaust gas recirculation system higher efficiency and lower emissions compared to previous diesel generations. This has reduced fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions by up to 13 per cent, which is good news for the environment and for customers‘ wallets. With 132 kW (180 hp) and 400 Newton metres of torque, the newly developed engine ensures dynamic driving pleasure with the Zafira in the city as well as on the motorway. The smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission also contributes to this feeling. The Zafira can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 185 km/h.

The latest generation 2.2-litre diesel engine is available for both the 4.98-metre long Zafira variant and the 5.33-metre Zafira XL. Regardless of the drive version chosen – battery-electric and therefore locally emissions-free or with an efficient diesel engine – customers can rely on the typical Zafira qualities: The comfortable MPV can optionally seat up to nine people. The rear gets even more comfortable with four independent vis-à-vis seats facing each other, which make the Zafira a particularly relaxing lounge on wheels. Sensor-controlled electric sliding doors on both sides of the vehicle make it easier to get in and out of the second and third rows. The Zafira also offers up to 4,900 litres of loading volume (in the XL version). Particularly practical for city tours: the van is just around 1.90 metres high, making it suitable for underground car parks.

Opel Vivaro: New diesel engine available in two power variants

In addition, the new, efficient 2.2-litre diesel engine also complements the Opel Vivaro’s drive portfolio. The Vivaro Combi is available with the 132 kW (180 hp) engine variant; Vivaro LCV customers can choose the various commercial vehicle versions also with 110 kW (150 hp) power output in combination with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. And, of course, the LCV bestseller is available as the battery-electric Vivaro Electric, which also promises performance and versatility without compromise in locally emissions-free operation.
