Across global HVAC&R markets, long‑term investment decisions are increasingly influenced by regulations, climate targets and operational security. BITZER addresses these challenges with a technologically coherent portfolio and decades of application expertise. The company combines compressors and complementary components to foster efficiency*, reliability and security throughout the entire system lifetime. ‘Our message at MCE is clear: future‑proof performance and compliance can go hand in hand when refrigerant choice, component design and application know‑how come as one package,’ says Gianni Parlanti, Managing Director of BITZER Italy.
Energy and climate policy, life-cycle risk and operating efficiency are accelerating the shift to natural refrigerants. Propane (R290) combines a very low GWP with favourable thermodynamic properties, enabling efficient systems. At MCE 2026, BITZER highlights this development with a consistent R290 strategy, supported by dedicated guidance and training to ensure the safe use of R290 in system design, commissioning and operation.
Four compressor technologies for R290 – breadth, scalability, reliability
BITZER is presenting a complete R290 line‑up for air conditioning and heat pumps:
- scroll compressors with the ORBIT PRO series with expanded application range for heat pump and air conditioning applications
- screw compressors with the CS PRO series with a wide application range as well as compact dimensions thanks to the integrated oil separator and suction gas cooled motor
- reciprocating compressors with the ECOLINE PRO series and expanded application ranges
- rotary compressors with R290 in camouflage, also available with external inverter options by OJ Electronics, for volume and small‑capacity heat pump applications
With this portfolio, BITZER supports customers and partners in scaling R290 solutions from small capacities to industrial applications – backed by matching components, training, application guidance and BITZER quality. BITZER has offered components for R290 and other hydrocarbons since 1990, for R717 (ammonia) since 1973, and for R744 (CO2) since 1998. For example, the ECOLINE 8-cylinder reciprocating compressor series for transcritical CO2 applications will also be showcased at the stand.
Reliable data center cooling starts with components from BITZER
Rising rack power densities, especially driven by AI applications and high-density computing, are increasing thermal loads in data centers. Operators therefore need powerful, efficient cooling systems that ensure uninterrupted operation and high infrastructure availability – while also helping to meet ambitious PUE targets, the key efficiency indicator of modern data centers.
At MCE 2026, BITZER will showcase key components for reliable and energy‑efficient data center cooling. The components presented can be optimally combined and are suitable for operation with various refrigerants, including the low-GWP refrigerant R1234ze(E). The CSW105 compact screw compressors provide up to 4 MW of cooling capacity in a tandem configuration, making them ideal for hyperscale data centers. With double‑slider technology and automatic Vi adjustment, they offer a wide capacity modulation range and ensure high efficiency under varying loads and operating conditions. Operation with an external frequency inverter such as VARIPACK is also advantageous. High condensing temperatures facilitate the use of heat recovery and thus support overall energy efficiency.
BITZER will also present KE condensers with capacities of up to 2600 kW and RFV falling‑film evaporators with capacities of up to 2000 kW. Their specific design reduces refrigerant charge, ensures unmatched part load performance and stable oil return – essential for safe and reliable system operation.
High temperature heat pumps: accelerating decarbonisation
Many industrial processes require thermal energy at high temperatures. Using high temperature heat pumps to utilise valuable waste heat provides the opportunity to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote decarbonisation. BITZER CSH2T compact screw compressors make it possible to provide fluid outlet temperatures of up to +120°C in these applications.
The compressors are designed for operation with the refrigerant R1233zd(E) and can be used with an external frequency inverter, such as the BITZER VARIPACK. This combination enables efficient control of compressor speed and ensures maximum operating reliability for this demanding system technology. Combined with KE shell and tube condensers and SQD direct expansion evaporators, coordinated components enable reliable integration, high efficiency and operational security in high temperature heat pumps – supported by more than 40 years of screw compressor know‑how.
