Change in management at TRACTO

The civil engineer began his career at TRACTO in 1987 as a technical application consultant in international business. In 1997, he took on the role of assistant to the management, working closely with the owner at the time, Wolfgang Schmidt. He has been the company’s technical managing director since 2010.

During this time, he played a key role in shaping TRACTO’s technical development into a global market leader in trenchless pipe installation, and was responsible for introducing numerous innovations. This phase saw significant progress in the development of new machines and processes, the advancement of HDD technology, and the increasing importance of digital services and automated processes. Today, TRACTO is one of the leading providers of trenchless solutions.

Meinolf Rameil has represented TRACTO in trade associations and standardisation committees for many years, driving the further establishment of trenchless construction methods as the state of the art.

Compared to open construction methods, these so-called ’no-dig‘ technologies offer numerous advantages, including less surface disruption, shorter construction times, a lower environmental impact, and greater efficiency in pipe installation — factors that are becoming increasingly important in view of the growing demands on infrastructure projects.

Even after stepping down from the management board, Meinolf Rameil will remain with the company. From September 2025, he will oversee the market-oriented management of the TRACTO Academy, focusing on training, qualifications, and nurturing young talent in the industry. He will also continue to advise on research and development work, as well as representing TRACTO in trade associations and committees.
