The second KARE Network Session will address the question of how circular economy can be implemented in practice in the plastics industry. Among other things, current work on waste recycling in companies and on avoiding granulate losses along the supply chain will be presented.
An accompanying vernissage will also offer a comprehensive overview of the project’s current application scenarios – from sustainable product design and CSRD reporting requirements to strategies for the use of recyclates in production. Guided tours of REHAU’s innovation rooms and a panel discussion will round off the programme.
Company challenges – get involved and develop solutions
Companies have the opportunity to submit their own questions about the circular economy until 27 October 2025. The challenges can relate to topics such as sustainability reporting, waste management or internal persuasion for the circular economy. The challenges submitted form the basis for practice-oriented workshops in which practical solutions are developed together with experts and other participants. Challenges can be submitted here.
‘The interactive part in particular – the workshops on the challenges – makes the network session a practice-oriented forum for exchange and networking,’ emphasises Dr Hermann Achenbach, Head of Sustainability and Circular Economy at SKZ and project initiator of KARE.
Invitation to participate free of charge
The event on 27 November 2025 (venue: REHAU Industries SE & Co. KG, Ytterbium 4, 91058 Erlangen) is aimed at companies, specialists, managers and decision-makers who want to actively shape the future of the plastics industry.
Two years of KARE – a strong alliance for sustainability
Since October 2023, the Regional Competence Centre for Labour Research KARE has been driving forward the transformation of the regional plastics industry towards circular value creation. The project brings together ten companies, a trade association and five research institutions with the aim of jointly anchoring sustainable solutions in the companies – with a focus on both technologies and the people who are shaping the change.
Participation in the network session is free of charge and registration is possible using the registration form.
Company challenges can be submitted here.
Further details on the schedule can be found in the programme PDF.
