With the hybrid models in the GardenPRO line, Original LÖWE shows how precise tuning of geometry, grind, and material leads to cleaner cuts – especially in harder woody plants, while also working very well on soft branches and sensitive plant tissue. Development and manufacturing consistently follow the “Made in Germany” quality standard – and have done so since 1923.

Anvil pruners have traditionally stood for one thing: rugged use and strong cutting power. With models No. 7, No. 8, and No. 10, Original LÖWE extends this principle by combining the strengths of anvil technology with the geometry and advantages of bypass pruners. The result is a hybrid principle that pairs powerful cutting performance with controlled guidance.

The blade geometry has been set so precisely that the edge grips the branch securely and cuts smoothly, while the curved anvil supports the material effectively – a controlled motion that avoids crushing. Depending on the model, cutting diameters of up to 30 mm are possible with a one-hand pruner.

Combined with a precise grind and a corrosion-protective surface treatment, this produces a clean cut without damage – hardly distinguishable from what bypass pruners deliver.

The coating used protects the blade from corrosion over the long term and is applied so thinly that cutting performance is not impaired. In addition, the nonstick surface helps plant sap and residue adhere less, making the blade easy to clean. Especially on young shoots, ornamental shrubs, or soft wood, the advantage of the hybrid pruners becomes clear compared with pruners that use a straight anvil.

The pruners are designed so that force progression and handle shape are ergonomically aligned. A continuously adjustable handle width allows adaptation to different hand sizes and contributes to an even, material-friendly force progression.

In addition, the blade is mounted so it can be replaced quickly when needed, without having to dismantle the entire pruner. For maintenance and longevity, all wear parts can be replaced – an important factor for sustainable use and repairability in professional as well as private settings. Long-term availability of spare parts ensures the pruners can remain in use for many years.

“Our goal was an anvil principle that also works optimally on sensitive plants. What matters is the tuning of blade, grind, and the shaping of the curved anvil – it ultimately determines cut quality,” explains Jürgen Usinger, Product Manager at Original LÖWE.
