It is a large helium-filled airship with twelve wind turbines. The electricity generated is fed to the ground via a connecting cable and fed into the power grid. This flying wind turbine utilizes wind speeds at an altitude of 2,000 meters and generates enough energy to power a house for two weeks. The energy supply becomes virtually three-dimensional. Conventional wind turbines could perhaps be supplemented in this way, especially in areas where space for onshore wind turbines is limited or flat sea beds are lacking.
Of course, further tests are still necessary. But clean energy is experiencing a boom that is also giving rise to many innovations. Around two million battery-electric cars are on the road in Germany. These save around 4.2 million tons of CO2 emissions per year. The number of electric trucks is also rising. According to calculations by EON, approximately 109,000 electric trucks and vans in Germany are responsible for significant CO2 savings. With the current German electricity mix, they save almost one million tons of CO2 emissions per year.
Wind turbines, both onshore and offshore, consume a lot of copper in their manufacture, as do electric vehicles. Battery raw materials include lithium, nickel, cobalt, and graphite. Copper plays an important role in increasing electrification. Electrical applications need it because it is an indispensable material in terms of corrosion resistance and conductivity, for example in solar systems. Copper is also necessary for the storage of renewable energies.
Aurania Resources – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/aurania-resources-ltd/ – focuses on precious metals and critical energy raw materials in Europe, specifically in Italy (nickel, cobalt, iron, copper, and chromium) and France. There, the company has also added three new exploration licenses (gold, polymetallic metals) through a subsidiary.
Arizona Sonoran Copper Company – https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/arizona-sonoran-copper-company-inc/ – owns the Cactus Copper Project in Arizona. It has a very good economic rating, is suitable for simple open-pit mining, has a projected life of 22 years, and is nearing operational readiness. A recent private placement has brought fresh money into Arizona Sonoran Copper’s coffers.
