The SLM Solutions Group AG is presenting Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology, a method of additive manufacturing, at the Swiss Medtech Expo 2017 on September 19-20. As one of the leading manufacturers of generative manufacturing machines, SLM Solutions will be represented in Lucerne in Hall 2 at Booth E2136.

Following its successful premiere in 2015, Swiss Medtech Expo is going into its second round: The Swiss MedTech industry will meet at the Lucerne trade fair on September 19 and 20, 2017. Advanced Manufacturing is in the focus of the trade fair. A separate symposium is being devoted to the cross-industry process, in which the possibilities of 3D processes will be illustrated on a solid scientific basis and oriented to actual practice.

SLM Solutions Group AG will be exhibiting with its own booth E2136 in Hall 2 for the first time. The company from northern Germany will show new solutions for generative manufacturing technology together with its Swiss partner Protoshape, represented by Dr. Felix Reinert. With a good mixture of exhibition, knowledge transfer and networking, SLM Solutions wants to sensitize the Swiss MedTech industry further for the topic of additive manufacturing. In addition to the exhibition booth, Philip Oris, Medical Business Development Director, will give a talk at the Innovation Symposium on the focal topic of additive manufacturing at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, titled "The productivity of selective laser melting to produce surgical implants."

The trade fair participation of SLM Solutions will focus on presenting selective laser melting machines, associated materials, technologies and processes. "At Swiss Medtech Expo, we want to show under realistic conditions how additive manufacturing contributes to innovations in the MedTech industry," Stefan Ritt explained, Vice President and Head of Global Marketing and Communications at SLM Solutions Group AG. "We have already been able to collaborate in developing innovative products with our technology in other industries and are convinced that we can also provide further stimuli in the Swiss MedTech industry."
