										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text">From May 13<sup>th</sup>-16<sup>th</sup>, AABC Europe will bring together international battery experts, OEMs and their key suppliers to discuss development trends, innovative technologies and market forecasts for the coming years. The electromobility market has been developing rapidly, but there are still numerous challenges to overcome and new solutions to be found for broad public acceptance. The current decline in sales of electric vehicles, caused in part by the loss of government subsidies (for example in Germany), demonstrates the price sensitivity of the market. The aim is not only to produce more efficiently, but also to find alternative raw materials that can offer new solutions for certain applications due to their greater availability and sustainability.</p>
<p>Farasis Energy has been innovating in the battery industry for more than twenty years, working on solutions such as the use of cell-to-pack design. Therefore, the company was actively involved in the PEAk-Bat project, a cooperation between several companies that is financed by the federal government. In the cell-to-pack design, the basic three-part structure is replaced by a two-part structure. Cells are integrated directly into the pack housing instead of modules, which in turn are integrated into packs. This approach increases the gravimetric and volumetric energy density of batteries and increases efficiency by up to 20 percent. The number of components required is thus significantly reduced and contributes to a reduction in costs.</p>
<p>At AABC, the company will be presenting a selection of its comprehensive portfolio of solutions – from battery cells to modules and packs – with customization available.</p>
<p>The high-performance lithium-ion battery technology is characterized by long range and fast-charging capability: With an energy density of 330 Wh/kg, a range of approximately 1,000 kilometers can be achieved. Customers who value fast charging will benefit from a battery with an adapted cell design. This allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 15 minutes in fast-charging mode.</p>
<p><b>An outlook into the future of battery technology</b></p>
<p>Aslan Göger, Director Business Development, will share his expertise in a presentation entitled &quot;Trends and Developments in Battery Performance&quot; at 3:10 p.m. on May 16<sup>th</sup>, which is part of the xEV Battery Technology track. In the subsequent panel discussion, the topics relating to battery developments for passenger cars will be explored in greater depth.</p>

<p>From June 18<sup>th</sup>-20<sup>th</sup>, the company will be presenting its battery solutions for various applications to trade visitors at the Battery Show: The comprehensive portfolio ranges from battery cells to -modules and -packs. In addition to off-the-shelf solutions, Farasis Energy also offers customized solutions upon request.</p>
<p>In the automotive sector, the high-performance battery technology impresses with its long range and fast-charging capability. With an energy density of 330 Wh/kg, a range of around 1,000 kilometers can be achieved. Customers who place more importance on fast-charging capability benefit from a battery with a customized cell design. This can have an impact on the energy density yet enables the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in just 15 minutes in fast-charging mode.</p>
<p><b>Innovation: Modular battery pack for automotive and commercial vehicles</b></p>
<p>On site, the focus will be on the modular battery pack as a new model that fits seamlessly into the various design requirements of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. It can be used equally in the inner frame packaging for commercial vehicles or the underfloor set-up for off-road applications and impresses with its excellent performance and mechanical behavior. Thanks to state-of-the-art NMC cells, the modular battery has a service life of more than 1,500 full cycles (100 % DOD).</p>
<p>The company is also presenting further battery solutions for the non-automotive sector. The focus here is on material handling and non-road-mobile machinery. The high-performance Atlas module with NMC cell chemistry at its heart, for example, fulfils the extensive requirements for safety and performance standards as well as service life, particularly in the material handling sector.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text">On March 1, Farasis Energy and FAW Jiefang Automobile Co., Ltd., a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, held a signing ceremony in Changchun, Jilin Province (China) to cooperate on commercial vehicle applications. Ji Yizhi, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of FAW Jiefang, Pei Guoquan, General Manager and Secretary of the Party Committee of the New Energy Division, Chen Binbo, General Manager of Farasis Energy, and other relevant leaders attended the event.</p>
<p>“FAW Jiefang will fully support Farasis Energy with its rich experience in vehicle integration, manufacturing and market channels to provide strong support for the cooperation project”, Ji Yizhi stated at the signing ceremony. Both companies will collaborate closely on commercial vehicle semi-solid-state and solid-state battery projects for light, medium and heavy vehicle platforms, and specific scenarios such as long-haul transportation, urban logistics, and municipal engineering. The goal of this cooperation is to create new energy vehicle products that are more competitive in the market and leading in industry technology.</p>

We will provide FAW Jiefang with high-quality products, accelerate technological innovation in the field of new energy vehicles, verify products with the market and lead the new energy transformation. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text">Farasis Energy founded its European subsidiary in 2019 to create new synergies locally through its proximity to strategic partner Mercedes-Benz and to be able to serve the European market accordingly.</p>
<p>The Farasis Energy Europe team now comprises more than 140 employees from 18 nations and focuses on the research and development of high-performance battery technology and pouch cells. With millions of euros of investment, significant progress has been made in recent years, particularly in the pre-development of battery design with big data, simulation and virtual concepts.</p>
<p>The company is now celebrating its 5th anniversary, which has been marked by continuous growth, innovation, sustainable action and many milestones:</p>
<ul class="bbcode_list">
<li><b>Technological breakthroughs: </b>The company has made significant progress in battery safety. The development of a module concept prevents thermal propagation, i.e. the thermal runaway of the module in the event of damage, in its latest generation of cells (Generation 4).</li>
<li><b>Strategic partnership: </b>Farasis Energy and the Turkish car manufacturer Togg have been working together since 2021 with the Siro joint venture. This partnership enables the company to establish independent battery production in Europe.</li>
<li><b>Production expansions: </b>Mass production at the new plant in Gemlik (Turkey) started in spring 2023. With a capacity of 8 GWh/a and over 700 employees, battery modules and packs based on high-performance lithium-ion technology are manufactured there. The plan is to increase the plant&#8217;s production capacity to 20 GWh/a by 2031.</li>
<li><b>Europe-wide brand awareness: </b>Participating in the IAA Mobility in Munich for the first time was a highlight. At the international event with more than 500,000 visitors, the company was able to use the opportunity to showcase its wide range of off-the-shelf products and individual customer solutions and strengthen its presence in Europe.</li>
<li><b>Striving for quality: </b>With the successful ISO 9001 certification, a globally recognized standard in quality management, Farasis Energy Europe has received official confirmation of the high-quality standards of its products and services.</li>

<p>&quot;The Farasis Energy Europe team has developed extremely well over the last five years. We are now able to cover many areas completely in-house – from materials science, cell research and development, simulation, module and pack development to process development. We are particularly proud of our engineering set-up, which covers all phases of the development process through to support in series production and is always close to the customer – just as our sales team is always close to the customer and can act quickly”, says Marcel Broemlage, General Manager Farasis Energy Europe.</p>
<p>The European subsidiary is looking to the future with many new goals and remains committed to the transformation of mobility. The company plans to introduce its next generation of cells in 2024 and expand production to 50,000 packs.</p></div>

Farasis Energy will be presenting itself to an international trade audience at the event from March 5<sup>th</sup> to 6<sup>th</sup>. The comprehensive portfolio – from battery cells to -modules and -packs – offers a wide range of solutions for future requirements. In addition to off-the-shelf products, the company also offers individual customizations.</p>
<p>The high-performance battery technology from Farasis Energy impresses with its long range and fast-charging capability. With an energy density of 330 Wh/ kg, a range of around 1,000 kilometers can be achieved. Customers who place more value on fast-charging capability benefit from a battery with an adapted cell design. This can have an impact on the energy density but still allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 15 minutes in fast-charging mode.</p>
<p>In addition to the P73 cell, the focus on site will be on the 590 VDA module and other modules as a section model.</p>
<p><b>The future of e-mobility</b></p>
<p>With more than twenty years of experience in research and development and over 300 patents, Farasis Energy is shaping the future of e-mobility. André Gronke, Head of Overseas Product Development, is part of the innovative team. As an expert in battery technology, Gronke will be taking part in the discussion panel at 05:25 p.m. on March 5<sup>th</sup>. Within the panel, he will be discussing how fast charging and inductive technologies are revolutionizing e-mobility with other well-known representatives from the industry. &quot;The market is developing rapidly. It is important that leading companies in the industry interact regularly in order to jointly transform the automotive industry and shape the energy transition. We want to make an important contribution to this with our battery technologies”, says Gronke.</p>
<p>The Automotive Masterminds will take place from March 5<sup>th</sup> to 6<sup>th</sup> as a hybrid event, both in-person at the Estrel Hotel Berlin as well as digitally.</div>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text"><b>Farasis Energy is part of a research consortium together with the company Kautex Textron GmbH &amp; Co. KG (supplier of energy storage systems) and the Fraunhofer Institute for High-Speed Dynamics, Ernst-Mach-Institut, EMI. This aims to make plastic-based battery housings safer by means of virtual design and thus increase the safety of electric vehicles. The leading developer and producer of high-performance lithium-ion battery technology and pouch cells for electromobility is leading the method development of the simulation model for mapping the thermal runaway of individual cells and propagation in the module. The company is also providing support on all battery-related topics within the project. </b></p>
<p><b>The three-year project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, started in July 2023.</b></p>
<p>Plastic enclosures have many advantages over metal enclosures. They are lighter, more sustainable, and cheaper to produce, and have better electrical insulation. In the event of a damaged cell, the battery housing can be exposed to enormous thermal loads if thermal runaway of individual cells occurs due to the damage and, in the worst case, this reaction spreads to adjoining cells (thermal propagation). The battery housing has a high safety-relevant function in this case, as it contains the spread of the resulting hot gases and particles. One challenge, however, is proving its safety, which is complex and expensive.</p>
<p><b>Research for safe integration</b></p>
<p>This is where the SiKuBa project comes in. The formation and propagation of hot gas and particle flows and their interaction with structural elements are to be analyzed experimentally and transferred to simulation models, which will lead to increased cost- and time-efficiency in the development phase. It will also be possible to assess battery safety regarding load case scenarios, materials, and component design.</p>
<p>Fundamental effects are investigated at laboratory level, including thermomechanical material behavior and cell degassing. The knowledge gained is integrated into simulation models and finally validated by physical tests on a demonstrator housing that closely resembles the planned product. The simulation methods developed not only enable significant time and cost savings during the development phase, but also a comprehensive assessment of battery safety under a variety of different load case scenarios, materials, and component design.</p>
<p><b>Benefits for future product development</b></p>
<p>Farasis Energy, together with its partners, will develop a detailed model for simulating thermal runaway or enhance the existing models within the company. In future development processes for module and pack projects, the insights gained from the developed simulation model will be utilized to expedite development and save on costly testing. Additionally, these simulation models enable the company to achieve a quicker and safer integration of plastic-based module and pack enclosures.</p>

The focus will be on the already established Atlas module and its areas of application as well as the possibility of individual adaptation to customer specifications. “The electrification of vehicles in the field of material transportation poses a number of challenges that we can effectively solve with our battery technology. The optimal use of the available installation space for sufficient power, range and particular ruggedness are just some of the points that characterize our technology. We also respond to the wishes of our customers, for example by enabling the integration of electrical connections and safety elements, cell monitoring and BMS”, says Dr. Keith Kepler, CTO and co-founder of Farasis Energy.</p>
<p><b>Powerful and rugged for indoor and outdoor use</b></p>
<p>Depending on the vehicle, between 2 and 40 modules can be accommodated in a forklift truck, offering an output of between 6.8 kWh and 272 kWh. This performance allows for long range and fast charging; the modules only need to be charged once or twice a day; a lunch break can be sufficient. The module also offers high performance in short intervals, e.g. when lifting heavy loads and recovering energy when lowering the forks. The module is potted, making it particularly rugged and suitable for outdoor use. Regardless of environmental influences such as rain, heat or uneven surfaces, the module maintains a constant output.</p>
<p><b>Green material flow</b></p>

Farasis Energy intends to continue to drive growth in the new year, further expand its existing business areas as well as strengthening its position in the non-automotive sector.</b></p>
<p>Marcel Broemlage has been with Farasis Energy since November 2020 and was gradually introduced to the new position. During this time as Head of Operations for Farasis Energy in the USA and Europe, he was able to make significant contributions to the structuring and development of the operations areas and the establishment of the site in Tuscaloosa (USA). Broemlage brings impressive experience and expertise from the automotive sector and was previously responsible for various positions at the ZF Group for 28 years, also including sales and acquisition. He will also remain General Manager of Operations of Farasis Energy USA.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text"><b>ISO 9001:2015 gilt weltweit als anerkannter Standard im Qualitätsmanagement.</b> <b>Die europäische Niederlassung von</b> <b>Farasis Energy, Entwickler und Produzent von hochleistungsfähiger Batterietechnologie sowie Pouch-Zellen für die Elektromobilität, hat im Oktober die Urkunde durch die unabhängige Prüfstelle Bureau Veritas erhalten. Die erfolgreiche Zertifizierung unterstreicht das Engagement des Unternehmens für höchste Qualitätsstandards in der Bereitstellung von Produkten und Dienstleistungen.</b></p>
<p>Die ISO 9001-Zertifizierung umfasst alle Geschäftsprozesse von Farasis Energy Europe. Dazu gehören Business Development, Einkauf, Finanzen, Produktentwicklung, Projektmanagement, Betrieb, Qualitätssicherung, Logistik, Personalwesen, IT, Kalibrierung und Instandhaltung. Zusätzlich wurden auch strategische Planung und After-Sales-Services einer Prüfung unterzogen. Der Auditprozess erstreckte sich über mehrere Tage. Als Ergebnis konnte die Prüfstelle keinerlei größere oder kleinere Abweichungen feststellen und bescheinigte die vorbildliche Handhabung.</p>
<p>„Die Zertifizierung war eines unserer Hauptziele für dieses Jahr. Wir legen sehr großen Wert auf Qualität, das wollten wir uns nun offiziell bestätigen lassen. Die gesamte Top-Managementebene war deshalb aktiv in den gesamten Prozess involviert. Die erfolgreiche Zertifizierung verdanken wir dem Engagement des gesamten Teams. Durch diese Bestrebungen ist es uns zudem möglich, die Zufriedenheit unserer Kunden und Partner weiter zu steigern – was natürlich unser Hauptaugenmerk als Unternehmen ist“, so Dr. Stefan Bergold, General Manager bei Farasis Energy Europe.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="pb-text">The ISO 9001 certification covers all of Farasis Energy Europe&#8217;s business processes. These include business development, purchasing, finance, product development, project management, operations, quality assurance, logistics, human resources, IT, calibration and maintenance. Strategic planning and after-sales services were also audited. The audit process lasted several days. As a result, the inspection body attested zero major and zero minor non-conformities as well as exemplary handling.</p>
<p>&quot;Certification was one of our main goals for this year. We attach great importance to quality, and we wanted to have this officially confirmed. The entire top management level was therefore actively involved in the process. The successful certification is thanks to the commitment of the entire team. These efforts also enable us to further increase the satisfaction of our customers and partners – which is of course our main focus as a company,&quot; says Dr. Stefan Bergold, General Manager at Farasis Energy Europe.</p>
<p>&quot;Every certification is an opportunity for Farasis Energy Europe to improve and develop. We closely follow industry trends, especially in the area of automotive quality standards. In the next phase, we are therefore aiming for ISO 14001 environmental management system certification,&quot; Bergold continues.</p></div>
