Finding the best solution for where to mount the battery is one of the biggest challenges in developing modern E-bikes. The trend in the E-bike industry is towards integrated batteries built into bicycle frames. The advantages of integrated batteries include a better appearance, protection for the battery during a crash, better theft protection, better weight distribution, and better cable routing. With its new URV8 battery, which is integrated almost invisibly into the frame and is also removable, the BMZ Group offers a design that sets new standards both functionally and visually.

URV8 for Challenging Load Scenarios

The URV8 represents the development of a battery with a powerful mounting mechanism that works reliably, even under challenging load scenarios. The aluminum housing and mount of the URV8 are robust and resistant. The fully integrated battery has a compact design, and depending on frame geometry can be integrated such that it is removable from the top, bottom, or side. The battery is built using BMZ Top cells, which offer a very high energy density and an up to twelve year service life. The URV8 has a performance peak of 30A, 650Wh, and is available with 36V or 48V rated voltage. That means the URV8 is a high-performance solution ready for the new generation of E-bike motors.

Solutions for Unique Customer Frame Designs

With the models URV7, URV8, URV9, and our new Cargo Battery, BMZ has multiple powerful integrated battery solutions available for integration into unique customer frame designs. The URV7 and URV9 are down tube batteries with up to 500Wh power. The URV7 is a semi-integrated down tube battery that is easy to remove and stands out by offering seamless integration. BMZ also offers the URV9, which is fully integrated into the down tube and not removable. It is especially well suited for long travel bikes, specialized bikes, lightweight construction, and bike fleets / rentals. This fully-integrated solution disappears completely into the frame to become invisible, and is especially popular in minimalist frame designs. The Cargo Battery is a flexible solution for the cargo bike market, with power up to 850 Wh.

Everything from a Single Source – made in Germany

BMZ offers both customer-specific developments and platform batteries. The advantage of platform batteries is that they allow for faster project completion and ensure cost savings. The frame developer is provided with the necessary CAD data, and can then find the best solution from a functional and design standpoint with comparatively little work.

We will be presenting our battery solutions to industry professionals at the EuroBike trade fair in Friedrichshafen. You can meet with BMZ E-bike experts in Hall A, Stand 214. Please contact Dr. Susanne Kaschub for an exclusive opportunity to interview Sven Bauer, CEO & Founder of the BMZ Group, as well as experts from the BMZ E-bike expert team.
