Retrospective of formnext 2017: SLM Solutions Convinces with Innovation and Conclusion of Business Deals

formnext 2017 was a resounding success for the organizers as well as for SLM Solutions Group AG. Four hundred seventy exhibitors from 33 countries presented their most important new products. With more than 21,000 visitors, the trade fair was able to increase the number of visitors by more than 60 percent and consequently continue its success story.

SLM Solutions, one of the leading manufacturers of metal-based additive manufacturing technology, presented one of the most important innovations to the industry in live operation at formnext 2017: The new SLM 800 provides technological integration into production processes using SLM processes. In addition to the significantly enlarged construction chamber (850x500x280 mm), the degree of automation with the docked removal and unpacking station especially convinced customers at the fair.

As a result, this conviction already led to a major order for 20 machines of the new type SLM 800 on the first day of the fair. The machines are going to a customer from the energy sector with headquarters in Asia. The positive trend continued for the company during the trade fair with the conclusion of additional sales contracts.

The new booth of SLM Solutions contributed to the success as a vibrant contact and innovation platform. SLM Solutions received a very positive feedback from visitors, who stated that the booth of SLM Solutions was one of the most visited. The machine technology, peripherals and software integration solutions displayed at the SLM Solutions booth especially attracted a great deal of interest. The trade visitors are convinced that SLM Solutions is an important trendsetter, and the company has again succeeded in confirming its position as the technology leader in additive manufacturing in the long term.
