The cable manufacturer, system technology and mechatronics provider CiS electronic GmbH with production facilities in the Czech Republic and Romania has finished the year successfully.

Just before the end of the year, the CiS Group won a long-term large project in the wind energy (renewable energy) sector. As of 2018, the CiS Group will supply a large wind power plant manufacturer with sophisticated cables.

Wind energy is now the second most important source of power generation in Germany. Energy obtained from brown coal is still top, although it is not environmentally friendly and therefore should continue to be reduced. Even though a reduction in subsidies is expected to lead to a reduction in the development of wind power plants in 2018, the sector is expecting growth again in 2019 due to the ever decreasing costs of power production from wind energy. New, cheaper technologies with low-maintenance and less fragile generators and bearings, as well as rotor blades with a longer service life, enable plants that no longer require subsidies. The power costs per kW are virtually the same as conventional power plants. This means that development and growth will no longer be subject to lengthy tendering procedures.

In contrast to our standard business, these individual cable sets will be up to 30m long and weigh up to 80kg. These cables therefore pose a different challenge for handling the products, with regard to both the required processing machines and the logistics. Furthermore, this project places high physical demands on the employees. For these cable weights, we require strong men with an interest in new technologies and logistical challenges to work in a clean and light working environment with a good, performance-related salary.

CiS is a renowned provider of brand cable assembly, system technology and mechatronics, a reputation founded upon placing sustainable concepts, quality, speed of response and reliability at the service of its customers. In the view of these customers, CiS is now one of the best on the market. In particular, customers appreciate the active contribution that CiS makes to their "total cost of ownership", which in turn promotes and enhances their competitiveness. CiS is committed to systematically expanding this leadership position in the sectors of automation, automotive, banking, mechanical engineering, medical technology, open-loop, metrology and closed-loop technology, transport, communications and railway technology, and in the fields of energy and environmental technology. Once again in 2017, CiS was named as one of the finest employers in the world in a WCA audit conducted by Auditor Intertek, London.
