One year ago, the embedded specialist Syslogic presented its commercial line. It features industrial computers for particularly power-hungry applications. Now, the company steps up its game even further: its new box PCs come with Kaby Lake CPUs.

The Compact C7 industrial computer is equipped with CPU from the seventh generation of the Intel Core i-series (Kaby Lake). Like the Skylake CPUs before them, the Kaby Lake units successfully strike the delicate balance between performance and power consumption. This makes them a perfect basis for the new Compact C7 industrial computer.

Computing power meets industry virtues
Just like all other Syslogic embedded systems, the new box PC has a passive cooking system. Its sturdiness and durability meet all industry standards, and the unit manages to penetrate a whole new performance level. It is ideally suited for applications in the fields of robotics, control systems, industrial automation or process visualization. The industry computer supports the video codecs WMV9, MPEG-2 and H.264.

Scalable Industrial PC with an i3, i5 or i7 Processor
The powerful Compact C7 industrial computer is just as scalable as all previous Syslogic embedded systems. Depending on the intended application, customers choose between a Core-i3, Core-i5 and Core-i7 processor. The latter offers a CPU clock rate of 2.8 GHz. In addition to the processor, the interfaces can also be configured according to the customer requirements. An add-on board allows for uncomplicated and inexpensive adjustments starting from small quantities. Thanks to its optional wireless module (LTE, GPS, WiFi), the industrial computer can function as an IoT device. Syslogic can also print a customer logo or customer-specific packaging on the box PC if requested.

Raphael Binder, Product Manager at Syslogic, commented on the new industrial computers: “The Compact C7 offers a high level of computing performance for power-hungry applications such as video – without compromising on the sturdiness or durability of the unit.”

A true industrial computer: reliable and maintenance-free
The Compact C7 industrial computer meets the highest standards of sturdiness, reliability and durability. Syslogic is one of the few European companies in the embedded sector that produces independently. Accordingly, Syslogic has a firm grip on the quality. Already during the component selection, the in-house developers ensure that only qualified industrial components are used. All industrial PCs are subject to a strict qualification procedure to prevent unplanned field failures. The robust stainless-steel and aluminum housing protects the sensitive electronics of the industrial PC from external influences.

On top of its first-class industrial computers, Syslogic offers straightforward, professional support to its customers during the design-in phase.

Industrial PC with a flexible system connection
By default, the box PC has two display ports, four USB 3.0 interfaces, 2 Gigabit Ethernet and two RS232 interfaces and audio interfaces. In terms of storage space, the industrial PC is equipped with an M.2-SSD as well as with a microSD slot. 2.5-inch solid-state drives can also be connected by using the two SATA-3 slots.

Syslogic intends to expand its market position with the new Compact C7. Raphael Binder explained: “The box PC with a Kaby Lake processor is suitable for customers looking for a high-powered, yet sturdy embedded system.”
