  • Modular Power Supply integrates PBF’s High Power Platform Technology in a flexible, scalable system solution.
  • PBF’s semi-standardized High Power Platform again enabled a fast and cost-attractive customization.
  • Order amount of approx. EUR 1.2 million – expected annual order amount from 2020 approx. EUR 2 million.

PBF Group B.V., Dutch subsidiary of SFC Energy AG (ISIN: DE0007568578), a leading provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets, announces the receipt of an order for a first series of prototype power supplies from an international laser equipment producer. The Laser Power Supply systems will provide power for the operation of lasers in material processing. The total amount of the order is approx. EUR 1.2 million. After successful prototype qualification, the Company expects annual product sales revenues of approx. EUR 2 million, starting 2020, from follow-on orders.

Laser diodes require a powerful, highly dynamic power supply for stable and precise laser system control in material processing. For the demanding requirements of these laser diode systems, PBF’s high-quality Power Supplies provide an extremely high energy density. Situated between grid and laser unit their dynamic load adjustment ensures optimum efficiency at fast dynamic pulse frequencies. This increases system performance and lifetime. PBF Laser Power Supplies are configurable and scalable for a variety of different system loads and requirements. In addition to a range of technical add-on functions, they feature decisive cost, quality, and service benefits.

PBF used the unique, successful PBF Power Supply Platform Technology to customize the ordered laser power supply systems.

“The customer’s main requirement was – in addition to ultimate precision – maximum flexibility of the Power Supplies towards current, voltage, and output changes. They also wanted a scalable system to grow with their dynamic applications. Our PBF Power Supplies combine modularity and flexibility in a completely new form. They can be freely configured and combined,” says Hans Pol, Managing Director of PBF and President Industrial of SFC Energy. “What’s more: Our semi-standardized PBF Platform Technology enabled an attractive price/performance ratio for the customer. We see a big potential for our Power Supplies in laser and many other industry applications, where power must be precise, flexible and cost-efficient.“
