In summer 2018, two young KECK employees completed their vocational training – and were specifically distinguished for their creativity and skill.

After three exciting apprenticeship years, Maren Matern is now a designer for visual marketing. As part of her final examination, she was asked to design an open space (2 m x 2 m) in a vintage / retro style.

With the matching products, Maren Matern was already familiar with the SMEG brand and positioned the stylish blender in the focus of her presentation. Beginning with the target group’s wishes, she developed her concept step-by-step and subsequently realised it with a great deal of diligence and hard work. For her work, she not only received the highest marks, but also effusive praise from the SMEG Marketing Director for Germany, Thomas Koch: “I can hardly imagine how many hours of work went into this project, but also how much fun this must have been to complete. Simply an amazing and impressive visual concept.”

Henrique Gomes even completed his vocational training as a carpenter with distinction and in a period of just three years. The jury of the Carpentry Guild in Böblingen stated: “The colour and design is exceptional for an apprentice’s work. Upon opening the doors, the TV furniture element is a real surprise.”

Both of these young adults will now enrich the KECK team with their talent, commitment and ability. Henrique Gomes is looking forward to the multifaceted job in the positive working environment of the KECK business unit “Woodworking”. Mostly he loves working on computer-operated machines. On the other hand, Maren Matern, who will be working in the KECK Kreation division, is really looking forward to the personal contact with customers and the model making. She also really enjoys the challenge of facing a variety of tasks every day. That way, there is no room for boredom.

Another apprentice, Gerome Gans, just concluded his first year of apprenticeship at KECK in the area of technical product design. This specific vocational training programme was offered by the company for the first time last year. That his grades have been close to perfect so far just reaffirms that we will continue to find and support young talents in our company.
