High performance transport, accumulation, dynamic buffering, sequencing and sortation – with these characteristics for optimized processes in e-commerce and omni-channel distribution, the SSI Carrier pouch sorter convinced the independent industry award jury: On 9 October 2018, the SSI Schaefer pouch sorter received the "handling award 2018" in the category "Warehousing, order picking and intralogistics". The renowned industry award is granted in four categories and signifies novelty value and innovation, customer use, sustainability and commercial viability of "technical innovations that are crucial for industry 4.0," says Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research. The prize was awarded during a grand event at the International Trade Fair for Automation in Production and Assembly, Motek in Stuttgart, Germany.
In addition to the "handling award 2018", the SSI Carrier is also listed in the ranking of the "Industriepreis 2018" and is rated "Best of 2018". "Another award for the highly dynamic pouch sorter system proves our focus and the long-term investment in product and solution development at SSI Schaefer," claims Michael Mohr, Executive Vice President Sales at SSI Schaefer. "We designed the SSI Carrier with direct customer focus and thus developed an intelligent solution to meet the current challenges in omni-channel distribution. It receives extremely positive feedback and is in high demand on the market."
SSI Carrier: versatile, economical and award-winning
