BIM CAD models speed up the design process and provide excellent customer service
It is becoming increasingly important for component manufacturers in the architectural sector to adapt their product data to requirements through BIM (Building Information Modeling). That is what RAILBETON recognized early on and is thus a pioneer in this industry: "BIM is one of the most important developments in recent years, especially in railway station planning. That why it was soon clear to us that we need to digitalize our products for the planning process, in order to meet the BIM requirements of today and tomorrow. We therefore wish to expand our pioneering role and customer service," explains Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Jens Frank, in charge of the Development/Design/Traffic Planning department at RAILBETON. Through the quick and easy download of 3D BIM CAD product data, architects, planners as well as civil engineers can speed up their design and planning processes and avoid possible sources of error from the start.
Digital product catalog: Single Source Input – 2D & 3D Multi CAD Output
Customer service is not the only thing to benefit from a components catalog powered by CADENAS. With the modular system, all product data of the manufacturer is managed in a central database (single source). From there, 3D & 2D BIM CAD data can be automatically generated for diverse CAD systems. This multi-CAD capability of the digital building product catalog reduces maintenance efforts for the building product manufacturer. At the same time, the design data can be provided to the customer as a download in an optimal form and always up to date, e.g. from the manufacturer’s own website.
The first 3D BIM CAD models by RAILBETON are available on the PARTcommunity download portal at http://railbeton.partcommunity.com as well as on the website of RAILBETON at www.railbeton.de/Service/BIM-Bibliothek_1621.html.
CADENAS is a leading software developer in the areas of Strategic Parts Management and parts reduction (PARTsolutions), as well as Electronic Product Catalogs (eCATALOGsolutions). With its customized software solutions, the company acts as a link between the component manufacturers with their products and the purchasers.
With its 320 employees at 18 international subsidiaries, the name CADENAS (Spanish: process chains) has been standing for success, creativity, support and process optimization since 1992.
