On the Trans.eu platform, loads find the carrier on their own. This is a result of the SmartMatch intelligent load proposal algorithm. What should the carrier do to receive the best possible offers?

The transport exchange is a basic working tool in many transport companies. As a source of spot loads, it is an effective remedy for the problem of empty runs. However, modern logistics platforms go one step further and automate activities that were previously carried out manually. On the Trans.eu platform, the rules for selecting a counterparty are completely different: the carrier does not have to search for the load on its own. If they actively use the system, it will offer them the most attractive offers.

Load ideally adapted to the carrier

Algorithms, which offer content to users, have been used by the largest websites for years. It is thanks to them that companies such as Facebook and Google display articles that the user will like to read, or videos that they will enjoy watching. This mechanism has also been used on the Trans.eu platform to offer users the counterparties with whom they will best cooperate.

In the new transport tool developed by Trans.eu the SmartMatch algorithm has been implemented, which combines the needs of two sides of a transport order. Its task is to offer freight from a given loader to a carrier who has cars with a specific body type and drives on the route indicated by the loader. For the carrier, this means that in addition to the orders which he obtains himself on the exchange, he receives proposals for the most suitable cargo from the system.

On what basis are the offers selected? The system analyzes the available variables about the loader’s and the transport company’s offer. In the case of the latter, the routes which the carrier is most often interested in are taken into account, as well as information about the company. Aleksander Olbert, business analyst at Trans.eu Group S.A., explains the details of the algorithm responsible for merging counterparties on the Trans.eu platform.

“SmartMatch chooses the load offer based on the routes on which the carrier searches for loads and handles transactions”, says Aleksander Olbert. “When it comes to information about the company, the algorithm takes into account, among others, the fleet of the carrier – its age and type of bodywork – certificates or evaluations of previous counterparties The more accurately the profile is completed, the more suited offers are received by the user”, explains the expert.

The Trans.eu platform is based on machine learning, i.e. self-learning systems. The tool learns the user’s preferences based on their activity. This means that the more orders the carrier takes up, and the more information about their fleet and rights they enter into the programme, the more relevant freight proposals they will receive in the future. When the carrier receives such an offer, they have a choice: they can immediately cooperate with the loader, negotiate the freight price or refuse to cooperate.

The most important functionalities in one tool

The tool from Trans.eu is a Class 4.0 TMS that will completely change the way transport cooperation works. The tool searches for load, but also allows you to manage transport orders from start to finish. The possibilities it gives users are:

  • receiving and reporting orders (including through electronic confirmation of execution – Proof of Delivery),
  • monitoring the fleet and the progress of orders on the map (with the possibility of sharing the loader’s position),
  • generation of reports on order execution,
  • invoicing completed orders and using invoice financing services,
  • integrating with telematics or delegating tasks and monitoring the position of the vehicle from the tool level.

The Trans.eu platform is an opportunity for the carrier to cooperate with the best counterparties selected for their needs. From the very beginning, it also allows to regain time, which until now has been spent on searching for orders and verification of counterparties, as well as on managing the orders using traditional methods.
