At 31 October 2018, Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH successfully completed its business year. The company group with its headquartes in Haiger registered an order intake of more than 160 million Euros. For the coming anniversary year the traditional company which was founded in 1919 believes in a continuing boom.

"An increase of the order intake which is considerably higher than industry average – this is only possible with a well-trained and highly motivated team," explains CLOOS Managing Director Sieghard Thomas. "Highly automated and intelligent robot systems are in great demand on our German core market, but also all over the world. In future, we wish to clearly differentiate from our competitors with manual and automated high-tech welding products."

The welding specialists place their emphasis to digitalisation and connectivity in order to support their customers on the way to Industry 4.0. So the new CLOOS Gateway, for example, offers a complete information and communication tool. Thus, the users can illustrate the performance and the efficiency of their welding systems, localise shortages, avoid errors with preventive measures and increase the production efficiency in total.

Because of the positive economic development and the high production utilisation Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH considerably expands its production capacities. The new production hall in Haiger with a total area of about 3,000 sqm is ready and will be occupied in November. "Thus we create the necessary conditions for future expansion possibilities", says Thomas. "As a global company with more than 50 sales and service partners worldwide we wish to grow not only in Haiger." Therefore, CLOOS will further expand the international locations. CLOOS China moved to a new location with a considerably larger production area in May 2018. "As one of the biggest growing markets for robots worldwide, we also expect a high order intake in China in the next business year," adds Thomas.

The Czech subsidiary in Prague is also planning to move to a bigger location in 2019. Further expansions, as for example at the production site in Poland, are planned for the short term.

Next year, CLOOS will celebrate the 100th anniversary. The engineer Carl Cloos founded the company in 1919 in Siegen. In 1924 they moved to Haiger. From 6 to 11 May 2019 there will be a big celebration week.
