Grob Aircraft SE wants to involve the Grob community in shaping the future of pilot training. The H3Grob Aircraft Operators Conference was founded by the aircraft manufacturer in order to examine and discuss all aspects of its G 120TP training aircraft and to enable its continued development. Working with clients, suppliers, and business partners, the company intends to build a knowledge base that offers the most up-to-date information on operations, service and logistics. This is intended to serve as a basis for the active exchange of information and experience and allow stakeholders to learn from one another.

“The idea behind the conference is to strengthen the Grob community and to take a good product and make it even better by working together towards this goal,” explains André Hiebeler, CEO of Grob Aircraft SE. The first conference in October 2018 was attended by representatives of all of the company’s fleet customers, who took the opportunity to get to know one another and to learn and exchange experiences and information about the latest technical, service, and logistics developments relating to the G 120TP. And then, on day three, to discuss and further develop the most important factors affecting the operation of the training aircraft.

Under the theme “Together, we are stronger”, topics presented at the conference included examples of best practices, along with ideas for improvements and effective solutions for servicing the aircraft.

The G 120TP training aircraft has been in operation since 2013, and the fleet has accrued almost 120,000 flight hours. The G 120TP fleet is the most reliable one, and not just according to the Mexican Air Force. The greatest chance the manufacturer has of continuing to improve the training aircraft lies in getting the data they need from the field. “Thanks to the fleet data provided by our operators, we’ve been able to make continuous improvements, and our fleet customers benefit as well.” A win-win situation for everyone involved.

The importance of getting together on an informal, personal basis is demonstrated by the success of the dinner on the first evening of the conference. The participants agreed that much was achieved before the official part of the conference even began, as the greatest exchange they had with one another took place that evening at the bar.
