TAIYO YUDEN CO., LTD. announced today the launch of the new IEEE802.11ac compatible wireless communications modules, WYSAGVDXG and WYSEGVDXG
(24.0×11.5×2.0 mm, with height as the maximum value). The products consist of wireless communications modules for the industrial equipment market (e.g., M2M such as robot control, handy terminals used for reading barcodes, and mobile printers for printing read out data) and IoT-related devices. WYSAGVDXG is equipped with our proprietary dual-band antenna that can be used for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, whereas WYSEGVDXG is equipped with a connector for an antenna. Both products are compliant with Radio Laws in Japan, NorthAmerica, and the EU, thus contributing to a reduction in the development period and cost of your products.
Mass production of the products will commence in December 2018.

Technology Background
As a result of recent widespread proliferation of IoT, the number of devices employing wireless
communications has been rapidly increasing, and data traffic also shows an increasing trend. In particular, Industry 4.0 and other M2M-based robot control for coordinating manufacturing processes and production machines have come to attention, boosting the demand for wireless communications not only in the consumer product market but also the industry equipment market. In such environments, the available frequency band can become busy and generate mutual interference, causing various obstacles such as reduced wireless communications speed and connection failure. Moreover, wireless communications devices must be compliant with the Radio Law of the countries in which they are used, and the cost and time required to obtain certification in various countries have become a burden for development.

In response to this situation, TAIYO YUDEN commercialized wireless communications modules WYSAGVDXG and WYSEGVDXG, which are compatible with IEEE802.11ac and capable of up to 433-Mbps high-speed communications. These products are able to use wireless communications standards in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, allowing you to achieve easy-connectability and high-speed wireless communications even in factories and other locations where wireless communications are extensively used. In addition, the products are compliant with Radio Laws in Japan, North America, and the EU, thus allowing for a reduction in certification costs.

TAIYO YUDEN will continue to develop wireless communications module products to support higher-speed wireless communications such as IEEE802.11ac Wave2 and enhance its product lineup.

Applications
Wireless communications modules for the industrial equipment market (e.g., M2M such as robot control, handy terminals used for reading barcodes, and mobile printers for printing read out data) and IoT-related devices
