The Executive Board of RENOLIT SE will be reorganized in the coming months. Effective April 1, 2019, Mr. Karsten Jänicke (51) will be appointed to the Executive Board of the SE. With a degree in Business Administration, he will take the place of the incumbent Pierre Winant, who has held the position since 2006. Born in Luxembourg, Pierre Winant will reach retirement age at this point and will step down at his own request.

A further change will follow on July 1, 2019. From this point on, Mr. Sven Behrendt will join the Executive Board which will then consist of four persons under the chairmanship of Mr. Michael Kundel. The 50-yr-old process engineer and business economist will take over responsibility for business operations as well as a number of corporate areas from Dr. Axel Bruder’s portfolio. Dr. Bruder, who has been a Board Member since 2005, will leave the Executive Committee at his own request on July 1, 2020 on reaching retirement age. At the same time a further presently unnamed Board Member will be appointed. After they have left the Executive Board, both Dr. Axel Bruder and Pierre Winant will continue to offer their services to the company in an advisory capacity.

Networking – A Topic Across the Whole Company

"With the appointment of these two new Board Members, we are ushering-in a new era while at the same time, ensuring the continuity and stability for which RENOLIT has been known for decades" says Chairman Michael Kundel of the strategic decision. Both new Board Members also see these core values as the company’s strengths because both, along with many years of experience in the plastics industry, can look back to more than ten years with the company.

Sven Behrendt joined RENOLIT in 2007 and up to now was responsible for the corporate areas Engineering and HSE. As part of his Board function, he will also look after the Business Unit RENOLIT PROFESSION as well as the corporate areas Invest, R&D and IT. Furthermore, he will initiate and oversee the Digital Transformation department. "We want to optimally organize our Business Units, locations and central functions and better interlink these within our Group. This will create synergies, and along with our corporate culture, will put us in a strong position to face the global competition.

Karsten Jänicke, who joined the company in 2008 and has a degree in economics and social sciences, also shares this approach. Since then, he has headed the RENOLIT DESIGN Business Unit whose products are used by the furniture, interior design, ship building and caravan industries. In his new function, Mr. Jänicke will also take over the RENOLIT WATERPROOFING area which manufactures special sealing films and geomembranes at RENOLIT’s Sant Celoni plant in Spain.
