High visitor turnout, numerous project enquiries and positive feedback on new products: DewertOkin GmbH can look back on a successful trade fair appearance at this year’s interzum. During the four days at the trade fair, a special focus was on the new OKIN Commander smart home solution for controlling bed and seating furniture with voice commands. This met with a great response which highlights a growing interest in networking solutions for comfort furniture. The growing demand for ergonomic working environments was also reflected in the intense interest in the OKIN DD11S and DD21S lifting columns.

"Digitalization, in the form of smart products, has now reached our living spaces. With the OKIN Commander, DewertOkin is taking the next step and adding voice controls for motorized adjustable furniture, thereby significantly improving the comfort for our customers," explains Martin Voss, Global Product Management for Seating, Bedding and Medical. The OKIN Commander enables the adjustment of beds and seating furniture using Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, as these voice control features are gaining popularity. The seamless connection between Alexa and OKIN products makes this all possible. Intuitively configured using an app, the system reacts to personalized voice commands to ensure outstanding comfort. Thanks to the forward-compatible architecture of the OKIN Commander, it will be possible to connect not only existing systems but also future systems.

Height-adjustable desks continue to gain popularity

In the office sector, OKIN presented a new generation of proven lifting columns for height-adjustable office desks: the DD11S and DD21S. "The trend towards ergonomic office working environments continues unabated. Employers are increasingly opting for health-conscious equipment – such as height-adjustable desks – in the workplace. The drive technology plays a key role here," emphasizes Patrik Nilsson, Sales Director for Office in Europe. Thus, the demand for high-performance components for these tables is quite high.

The DD11S and DD21S systems use proven technology from the high-end ID21 lifting columns with the patented OKIN sliding system. Thanks to their improved profile strength, high load capacity and virtually noiseless drive operations, the DD11S and DD21S are ideally suited for high-performance desktop systems. The OKIN lifting columns can be seamlessly integrated into demanding office workplaces without any crossbeams. They are optimized in accordance with all worldwide standards, such as BIFMA, DIN EN 527 and DIN FB.

New drives receive positive feedback from visitors

Innovations for the bedding sector included not only the OKIMAT 4 IPS double drive with its high pushing force, but also an integrated system solution based on the OKIMAT 4. This is aimed at furniture manufacturers who are designing their products without an additional controller. It also features multi-function ports, Bluetooth connectivity and a memory function.

In the seating sector, visitors were impressed by the new Microdrive 3 single drive, with its all-metal housing that provides improved comfort. The extremely compact design and small installation dimensions offer the greatest possible freedom of design. The rotatable gear clevis permits a great degree of installation variability.
