The ProcessStandard Offset (PSO) is a guide to creating optimal, stable and reliable print products in accordance with the international series of standards ISO 12647.  It was developed and brought to international standardization by Fogra in cooperation with the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm).

PSO describes an industrially-oriented and standardized approach to manufacturing print products, from data collection to final print product. The complex production process is streamlined to be as efficient as possible and simultaneously guarantees high and predictable colour quality. This is achieved by clearly defined interfaces with feasible aim values and tolerances.

Worldwide accepted PSO certifications by Fogra

The certification of print shops according to PSO (ISO 12647) has been established by the originators of PSO almost 15 years ago. Since then, contents and certification procedure are regularly verified, optimized and adjusted to the current international rules (www.fogra.org/fogra-fogracert-en/pso-certification).

Externally, the certification provides proof of the quality a print shop is capable of. Internally, it gives evidence that everything has been done right. A high recognition of the Fogra PSO certificate worldwide succeeded in approx. 250 certified printing companies in more than 20 countries (www.pso-insider.de).

International certification partners provide onsite support for certifications

In order to cope with the strong international demand for the certification according to PSO (ISO 12647), Fogra runs a partner programme in non-German-speaking countries. It allows qualified specialists to help print shops to gain the valuable certificate and to carry out the necessary assessments at site.

A print shop, which is interested in a PSO certification, can directly get in contact with a local partner. He carries out the certification procedure at site, whereas the evaluation and the issuance of the certificate are accomplished by Fogra.

All actual PSO certification partners can be searched and found at www.fogra.org/fogra-fogracert-en/pso-partner-list.
