mediCAD Hectec GmbH, a leading provider of digital software solution for orthopedic surgeons, and B. Braun Medical in Ecuador, a 100% subsidiary of B. Braun Germany and one of the main and most important providers of the health sector in Ecuador, announced their business partnership as of July 1st, 2019.

mediCAD Hectec GmbH, Germany has been developing software solutions for orthopedic surgeons since 1994 with the goal to, in all aspects, digitally enable efficient and secure planning for joint operations – in clinics as well as in practices.
In 1999, mediCAD® became the first software program worldwide to allow the user to create complete and professional pre-operative planning for a joint replacement in a digital environment with just a few keystrokes/clicks.  With the mediCAD® solution, the company has set until today an innovative milestone worldwide in supporting surgical orthopedics. By automatically archiving all the necessary information and ensuring consistent traceability of the findings, pre-operative preparation and follow-up care.

With its world’s largest implant database with around 550,000 templates from over 140 international implant manufacturers, mediCAD® maintains its status as the worldwide most widely used planning program on the market.

The sales partnership of mediCAD Hectec and B. Braun Medical gives now orthopedic surgeons and clinics the possibility to directly purchase mediCAD locally in Ecuador with immediate access to B. Braun Aesculap implants for their digital preoperative planning. mediCAD and Aesculap customers can benefit from a wide range of Aesulap implants in 2D and 3D in the mediCAD® database. “We proudly can say that as of today around 1.000 single hip replacement templates, 650 single knee templates as well as 250 trauma-templates (like screws and plates) are available in the mediCAD® database for 2D planning and ready to use by orthopedic surgeons. With the growing 3D market, B. Braun Aesculap is with 900 3D-templates for hip and knee joint replacements one of our leading partners in providing 3D templates in our database,” states Jörn Seel, CEO of mediCAD Hectec.

“A great number of implants our customers can benefit from. And for our partner B. Braun Medical in Ecuador, a great opportunity to tie their customers through mediCAD® to their products in the long term. We look forward to having a great partnership and successful cooperation to serve our shared customers the best”, resumes Jörn Seel.
