As part of the promotion of small groups of the foreign trade portal of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW International), mycon GmbH together with its sister companies Kipp Umwelttechnik GmbH and Jens W. Kipp Tiefbau GmbH participated at the MCE Asia in Singapore. Mostra Convegno Expocomfort is an international trade fair for heating, cooling, water and energy technology in the construction sector. In 2017, the trade fair was already able to record a rush of 10775 trade visitors.

Explosive water supply situation in a small Asian city-state

In the city-state of Singapore the interests of customers are basically similar to those in Europe. Singapore is a highly developed industrial location with a wage level that is only slightly below the wages in Germany. In Singapore, as well, people want to save resources within the bounds of possibilities. The resource water is particularly valuable here. As Singapore has hardly any resources of its own, some waste water is used, which is treated by the state water authority using a special filter process. In the coming years, the city-state wants to become independent of the previous water supplier Malaysia. The Malaysian government is about to increase the price of water by a factor of 10. With this highly volatile supply situation, it is essential to use the valuable water as effectively as possible.

Low water consumption during industrial cleaning

High pressure water cleaning, for example heat transfer systems unsing high pressure water, also consumes far too much of this valuable resource. The cleaningresult is often not optimal and must be improved with chemicals. This damages the already polluted environment even more. The cleaning systems of mycon GmbH are made for this challenge. The JetMaster cleaning system saves approx. 95% of the water otherwise used for cleaning and does not require chemical additives for cleaning.

Environmentally friendly solutions also available as automated solutions

As a small country, Singapore is dependent on an effective method of waste disposal that also has a positive side effect. So far, four waste incineration plants have been operated to generate electricity and another is in the process of being completed. It should be noted that some of these plants in Singapore are significantly larger than in Germany. With the larger dimension of the waste incineration plant, a larger cooling system based on air condensers is also required at the same time. The year-round high temperatures in Singapore make effective cooling by the condensers difficult. Additional contamination of the air condensers during operation significantly reduces their effectiveness. In order to prevent these losses in effectiveness, it is important to keep the surfaces of the air condensers clean. For this purpose, mycon GmbH also offers the JetMaster system in the automated version JetMaster AS. This is particularly suitable for cleaning large heat exchanger surfaces, as is often the case in waste incineration plants and power stations. In combination with the ControlMaster monitoring system, the most favourable cleaning time can be determined taking into account the operating parameters and all important parameters can be monitored. If required, the JetMaster system can also be used for manual cleaning. This ensures that the full functionality of the system’s heat transfer systems is always maintained at the highest level. In Singapore, too, the application examples of the Kipp Group generated a great deal of interest. Several major projects with companies and government agencies in Singapore are already under discussion.

Low-waste decoating, paint stripping and cleaning with the PowerMaster system

mycon also offers an environmentally friendly process for decoating, paint stripping and cleaning. The PowerMaster system cleans using compressed air, water-soluble granulates and small amounts of water. Depending on requirements, surfaces can be cleaned without roughening.

Conclusion of the trade fair appearance at the joint stand of mycon GmbH, Kipp Umwelttechnik GmbH and Jens W. Kipp Tiefbau GmbH

All three companies were satisfied with the course of the fair. Especially the JetMaster and PowerMaster systems were in demand. mycon GmbH sees a high potential for the fully and semi-automated version of the JetMaster system in Singapore and other Asian countries. Corresponding discussions with interested parties are already underway. The companies were supported by Mr. Loke from the company Wematec. Mr. Loke represents the Kipp group in Asia and ensures smooth communication with customers. The focus is on short communication channels with the customers on site.
