Bechtle expands in Western Switzerland with the IT systems integrator, Abissa Informatique. The company was founded in 1993 and its 50 staff are employed in Renens near Lausanne and Petit-Lancy, Geneva. In the previous financial year, it recorded revenues of some 9.5 million Swiss francs. Abissa is an IT digitalisation partner for companies in Western Switzerland, whose portfolio encompasses consulting, software engineering, IT infrastructure integration and outsourcing solutions. With the sale, the managing directors, René Fell and Patrick Joset, have ensured the company remains in good hands well into the future and shall themselves continue to play an active role there.

With Western Switzerland’s Abissa, Bechtle is increasing its footprint in a key economic area. Alongside gaining highly-skilled employees, Bechtle is also bolstering its portfolio and developing additional synergies within the group. Abissa has a broad and loyal customer base. “In Abissa, we are gaining a digitalisation partner for companies in Western Switzerland that is also very much in line with Bechtle’s corporate culture. We are delighted to be able to strengthen our position in Western Switzerland with a well-established business,” says Hanspeter Oeschger, Executive Vice President, IT Systems Integration & Managed Services Switzerland, Bechtle AG. The tie-up with Bechtle is enabling the company to secure the succession of its managing directors, René Fell and Patrick Joset, while ensuring its employees and customers have a bright future. Patrick Joset: “By joining forces with the Bechtle Group, we are not only guaranteeing our sustainability as a business, but also building on what we have already achieved over the last 25 years. This includes the ongoing stability for our employees, trust of our customers, quality of the projects we deliver and also our passion for what we do.” René Fell adds: “In collaboration with Bechtle, we are now able to develop new services for national and international customers, who are not currently on our radar. It is also an excellent opportunity to share resources and experience which can only benefit our customers. I am very much looking forward to being a part of this alliance.”

Bechtle has been represented in Western Switzerland since 2004, opening new offices in Morges and Carouge in 2018. Abissa shall continue to operate under its well-established name from its Geneva and Renens locations for the time being. Both partners have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
