Teijin Limited announced today its new Teijin Smart Safety website, https://www.teijinsmartsafety.com/, to introduce the company’s lineup of next-generation safety solutions for firefighters, police, emergency personnel and other first responders who frequently work under hazardous conditions.

Teijin Smart Safety Lineup

– Active Cooling Vest (commercially available)

A battery-powered lightweight vest that cools the user simply by amplifying his or her own natural cooling mechanism. With no requirement for pre-cooling or other preparation, this innovative, practical, plug-and-play tool simply requires a charged battery to provide body-cooling support for up to six hours of uninterrupted use.

– Mission Navigation Belt (pilot phase)

This lightweight belt allows military personnel to sense waypoint navigation cues through haptic feedback. In addition to improving navigation, the belt ensures safety by allowing users to keep their hands, eyes and ears free to fully focus on their surroundings and mission.

– SmartShoulder (under development)

Teijin’s innovative tool is a special vest equipped with emergency alarm functionality and autonomous lighting that turns on and off automatically via a light sensor. The SmartShoulder enables service engineers working alone or under dangerous conditions to keep their hands free from lighting devices and to see their surroundings and tasks clearly at all times.
