The coronavirus pandemic has been a financial burden for many people. With an early Christmas gift, we were able to take some of the load from the shoulders of one customer.

First and foremost, coronavirus is a risk to health. However, the consequences of the different measures to kerb the pandemic are primarily of a financial nature.

Financial worries are particularly noticeable during the Christmas period. While the average German person spends around €500 on Christmas presents alone, more and more people are having to tighten the purse strings due to coronavirus. Unexpected expenditures, for example urgent maintenance or repair work on your own car, can quickly push people to their financial limit.

"Thanks to our Workshop Advisory Board, which we founded in September 2018, we have an open ear in automotive workshops on-site," explains Holger Drewing, Managing Director of Herth+Buss Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG. "That’s why we know what our workshop customers need and what their customers are facing."

"A member of our Workshop Advisory Board told us about a workshop customer who we were able to give a special surprise just before Christmas," says Drewing.

The customer from Wächtersbach relies on her Suzuki Swift to get to work. The inspection and necessary maintenance work were therefore an additional worry shortly before Christmas. So she was delighted to find out that we were relieving this burden.

Just a few days later, the owner was able to collect the Christmas gift in the form of her car returned to her in perfect condition. Jens Heun and Peter Thilthorpe had completed the extensive list of work.

Outside the Christmas period, the two workshop field service staff are on the roads in Germany and in independent workshops for us. They are also familiar faces as Herth+Buss Werkstatt-Buddies, who present different application areas of the product range on social media channels, demonstrate tips and tricks and thus make everyday work easier for workshops.

In Hubba‘s KFZ-Service, the automotive service workshop run by Sascha Hölzinger, member of the Workshop Advisory Board, in Wächterbach, our two Werkstatt-Buddies carried out the required inspection and tested all road and safety-relevant components. After a filter and oil change, the necessary maintenance of the brake system and the complete replacement of brakes, the delighted owner was able to drive away from the yard happy in her now fully roadworthy car and invest the money saved into her Christmas celebrations. The Werkstatt-Buddies also carried out the A/C and interior disinfection on the vehicles with our AirClean system. AirClean enables the A/C system and interior to be disinfected effectively, thus reducing viruses, bacteria, spores and other germs at the same time.

The two professionals had our extensive range of tools, spare and wear parts at their disposal for all work carried out in the Christmas campaign. From brake discs, drum brakes and filters, the ventilation unit and the necessary assembly tools, through to the funnel for filling the fresh engine oil – our Christmas elves were perfectly equipped and prepared for all conceivable maintenance and repair work.

"It’s a real pleasure for us to help someone at Christmas, particularly in the difficult times we are currently facing," says Holger Drewing. "But we have deliberately not restricted our social commitment to special occasions." For example, we have been supporting the charity TEILEn e.V. for years, which organises measures and campaigns for preventative accident prevention and care for accident victims with the support of vehicle parts manufacturers, dealers and workshops, and, together with Aktion Kinder-Unfall e.V., focuses in particular on the protection of children on the road.
