Under the motto "On the road to ISE" it was the first trip in months for most of the participants of the AV Innovation Days, which did not lead to Barcelona but to Lindlar. At the invitation of LANG AG, manufacturers, rental companies and system integrators came to Lindlar to find out about new products and innovations.

In order to be able to present or experience new products and revive one’s own network, the AV Innovation Days were the appropriate solution this year as a hybrid concept between face-to-face event and live stream. AVID acted as the first step towards making events and trade fairs tangible again, because despite routine online meetings, the event industry thrives on personal encounters and emotional experiences. A comprehensive online program was aimed at all those who nevertheless wanted to follow the agenda based on closed country borders and travel restrictions in the home office.

In addition to the technologies familiar to the industry, new solutions that ensure hygiene and safety in crowds played an essential role. The products were largely integrated into the hybrid event concept, which made it possible to obtain official approval for the event from the local authorities. For example, LUMUX GUARDIAN, a digital software solution for managing associated visitor and test data, and for fast and secure entry control through the use of rapid antigen-based tests, allowed visitors to be counted and directed to visit the exhibition stands in one-way traffic. UVC air sanitizers on the hall ceiling and in the exhibition area, the common distance rules and FFP2 masks provided free of charge represented further health measures.

The exhibitors Absen, Alpha Loop, Analog Way, Barco, EPSON, EXACT solutions, INFiLED/Brompton, JOY, Leyard, Lightware, OPHIT, Panasonic, Peerless, SHARP/NEC and SHARP presented new product highlights and developments during the event.

Absen’s product presentations placed a clear focus on IMD products, a manufacturing method in which multiple SMD LED pixels are bundled into a mechanical unit and placed on the PCB, such as a 0.9mm HC Series product for control rooms or a 1.5mm AX Series product for rental & staging applications.

Software developer Alpha Loop presented LUMUX GUARDIAN, a digital software solution that combines the use of rapid antigenic tests with the management of associated visitor and test data for fast and secure registration and admission control. Coupled with the appropriate media technology, this solution is adaptable to any location.

Analog Way’s MidraTM 4K series is tailored for small and medium-sized live events or fixed installations, offering high reliability with low latency and advanced 4K live processing features. The product portfolio consists of the QuickVu 4K, QuickMatrix 4K, Pulse 4K and Eikos 4K.

The featured Barco PDS-4K enables switching between single and dual screens with high-quality 4K processing and features six 4K inputs and two 4K outputs for completely seamless mixing programs. The single-chip G100 projector boasted native WUXGA resolution and is available in three brightness variants: 16,000, 19,000 and 22,000 lumens.

EPSON presented the new EB-L30000 4K projector, which particularly shone through the use of the new ELPLX03 ultra short throw optics, a brightness of 30,000 lumens, as well as its compact design.

Hygiene solutions for public areas were presented by EXACT solutions. The Doorman functions, for example, as a digital access control by measuring body temperatures or checking whether passers-by are wearing mouth-nose coverings. UVC air purifiers are used to disinfect air flowing past by integrating UVC tubes into housings.

A virtual production studio presented by INFiLED and Brompton during AVID consisted of two corner-mounted DB Series 2.6mm LED walls and a DF Series 3.9mm LED floor, and shone with high contrast and unparalleled image quality. The fLED Screen 1.2mm powered by INFiLED Wallpaper Series combined with the EXACT solutions stand TITAN, which allows flexible installation in landscape or portrait mode, rounded out the exhibited product portfolio.

JOY demonstrated the new version of the professional video playback and editing software PLAYDECK.tv.

Leyard’s mini-LED TXP Complete interactive series is available in both 108" and 135" sizes, each in Full HD resolution. The slim product design makes the TXP displays ideal for use in conference rooms.

The new Lightware TAURUS UCX platform offers full HDMI 2.0 compatibility when transmitting 4K60 4:4:4 signals and allows users to share content for easy and intuitive control of conference rooms.

Signal management expert OPHIT introduced its new fiber optic extender lineup, consisting of a wide variety of 4K/8K DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 extenders. Panasonic unveiled the PT-RQ35K projector as its new flagship 3-chip DLP product. The 30,000 lumen projector features a wide color gamut and natural colors based on red and blue lasers and is available now. The additionally introduced new PT-MZ880 Solid Shine series, an update of the PT-MZ770 series, offers excellent image quality as well as convenient setup.

Peerless demonstrated various display wall mounts, the rugged Xtreme High Bright Outdoor Displays, and the dvLED wall mounts. Large format displays of the ME/M & MA series as well as LED posters of the A series, available in a resolution of 1.9mm or 2.5mm pixel pitch, were presented at the SHARP/NEC booth.

SHARP showed various displays as conference room solutions, such as the 120" 8K display 8M-B120C, which impressed with its impressive picture quality, a Windows Collaboration Display or the Big Pad as an interactive whiteboard and digital flipchart.
