Together with its local partner Proyectcom, Hytera has been selected to equip 15 Peruvian airports, which are under the administration of the Peruvian aviation regulator Corporación Peruana de Aeropuertos y Aviación Comercial (CORPAC S.A.), with a high-quality and high-performance DMR trunked radio system and to network them with one another.

CORPAC S.A. is the authority responsible for aviation safety in Peru. This project represents a milestone in the inter-networking of the individual regions, as it enables uninterrupted nationwide communication between the 15 airports throughout Peru. The aim is not only to increase secure communication in case of emergency, but also to increase the efficiency of operations and to simplify and improve user management in the system.

Availability and security of airport communications

Hytera’s Peruvian partner Proyectcom is an integrator specialising in radio technologies, networks and connectivity, which relies on Hytera’s innovations. For the airports project, the main focus was on integration capability, the safety factor and certain control functions. With this in mind, Proyectcom proposed a DMR trunked radio system from Hytera, modelled on the communication system for the Hong Kong international airport.

The flexible and scalable DMR solution includes MD785i mobile radios, PD705G handheld radios, a SmartDispatch dispatch and localisation system, and IP-based RD985S repeaters. The unified communications system permanently connects the airports of Andahuaylas, Atalaya, Chimbote, Cuzco, Huánuco, Ilo, Jaén, Jauja, Juanjui, Mazamari, Nazca, Rioja, Tingo Maria and Yurimaguas with CORPAC’s headquarters in Callao and optimises their resources. The flexible and robust DMR trunked radio system provides seamless connectivity and fast, secure communication between the airports and all terminal users, as well as the ability to transmit data, real-time GPS positioning and geo-fencing.

The DMR communication system is deployed, for example, by users in the control towers and rescue vehicles and by the airport fire brigade – both in their daily operations and in the event of critical situations or incidents. As a result, the new Hytera technology is making a significant contribution to the safety of millions of passengers as well as in the handling of air cargo.
