The impact of E-commerce on the Chinese Home Appliances Market
The contribution of e-commerce to China’s domestic appliance consumption has reached new heights. The convenience of product comparison and at-home delivery and diverse product offerings, competitive pricing, and the ability to reach other consumers who do not have easy access to other channels drive the growth of e-commerce channels and the home appliance market in China.
Initiatives of the Chinese Government
The Chinese government is subsidizing up to 13% of the product price, with a cap of RMB 800 per product, to boost the home appliance market. This program began in April 2019 and is for home appliances that meet the environmental and energy use requirements. Some provincial governments, such as the Beijing municipal government, began this intuitive in January 2019, offering subsidies ranging from 8% to 20% for 15 different goods.

Smart appliances have been developed as a result of technological advancements, and they are expected to drive the growth of the Chinese household appliance market.
