Since it was founded six years ago, CLARK, the leading digital insurance manager, has grown 70 times faster than the entire German insurance market. With currently more than 350,000 users, CLARK aims to win 500,000 customers by the end of the year and thus become the largest insurance broker for consumers in Germany. Most recently, the Frankfurt-based Insurtech had once again accelerated its growth with a successful 69 million Euro Series C funding – including from tech giant Tencent – and further investments in its product and customer acquisition.

"Soon, digital insurance management will be just as easy and natural as online banking and other digitalized financial services," said Dr. Christopher Oster, CEO and Co-Founder of CLARK. "Our rapid growth, the feedback from our customers and investors show us that we are on the right track."

# 1 in brand awareness and customer satisfaction

A weekly survey by the renowned research institute YouGov on behalf of CLARK shows: When it comes to brand awareness, the Frankfurt-based Insurtech is already the undisputed number 1 among insurance providers. With 21 percentage points, CLARK is well ahead of the runner-up with 9 percentage points. Even after signing the brokerage mandate, the users are convinced of the CLARK service: They rate the app on the Trustpilot rating platform with 4.6 out of 5 possible stars as “excellent”.

Success in Austria serves as blueprint for future expansion

CLARK plans to expand into other markets in the coming years, using its successful market launch in Austria in 2020 as a model. One year after the expansion, CLARK already counts over 10,000 customers in Austria. During the corona pandemic, the young company had a successful market launch. The spatial distribution and the age structure of the CLARK users are particularly pleasing: The growing customer base is distributed equally across rural and urban regions of Austria and the CLARK users are between 20 and 70 years old.

A look back: CLARK’s founding story

In the summer of 2015, Dr. Christopher Oster (CEO), Dr. Marco Adelt (COO), Chris Lodde (CMO) and Steffen Glomb (CTO) together to found CLARK. Their vision: to gain insight into the subject of insurance and to develop a modern, digital solution with which consumers can bundle, compare and optimize their insurance contracts in a clear manner – the digital insurance manager is called "CLARK". For a holistic advisory experience, in addition to the CLARK app, more than 100 insurance experts are available to useres for individual information and consultation. The combination of digital service and personal advice is well received: Since the company was founded in 2015, CLARK has continuously increased the number of users and currently manages more than a million insurance contracts for over 350,000 customers.
