• Around 3,500 vaccinations already carried out at MAN’s German sites
  • Extension of the offer to family members and close relatives
  • Company doctors as part of the national vaccination strategy

Since the start of vaccinations at the plants, the company doctors at the German sites of MAN Truck & Bus have already given around 3,500 vaccinations to colleagues against Corona. Now, once again, a new phase of the protection concept for the workforce is beginning: at the plants in Munich, Nuremberg and Salzgitter, relatives of employees and people from the same houshold can now also be vaccinated.

"We see ourselves as part of the national vaccination strategy and are happy to do our bit to contribute to rapid immunisation. Therefore, it was a matter of course for us to also vaccinate people in the direct vicinity of our colleagues as soon as we have appropriate quantities of vaccine available," describes Dr Oliver Breitkopf, Chief Medical Officer at MAN Truck & Bus SE. Since 8 June 2021, he and his colleagues have been offering voluntary vaccinations for employees at the German sites. Dr Breitkopf is particularly pleased about the high level of willingness to vaccinate: "We were able to vaccinate every available dose from day one, so that we have already administered the first vaccination to a considerable number of colleagues. Our procedures have worked well in this regard, even with the increasing amount of vaccine, so we can now flexibly adjust capacity to the higher vaccine supply without any problems."

As part of the vaccination campaign, all employees at the German sites will continue to have the opportunity to be vaccinated during working hours and on company premises. Depending on vaccine availability, they can also book appointments for first-degree relatives and people from the same household. The vaccination offer thus complements the existing protective measures. This includes a comprehensive testing concept with PCR as well as rapid antigen tests in the event of suspected cases and corona infections in the workforce – always with the aim of interrupting chains of infection at an early stage. In addition, MAN in Germany offers two optional self-tests per week. MAN sites in countries outside Germany participate in the respective vaccination campaigns and vaccination strategies in force there.
