Designing environmentally and climate-friendly mobility for tomorrow: This is the core topic of the 19th International Congress of Experts, which will be held in digital format from January 24th to 28th, 2022. In 15 specialist forums, experts will share the latest findings of the transition to a climate-neutral transport sector. The congress is organized by BBE in partnership with UFOP, VDB, BDBe and FvB.

"Fuels of the Future 2022 – Navigator for Sustainable Mobility": This is the motto of the 19th International Congress, to which the German Bioenergy Association (BBE) and its partners are inviting participants from January 24th to 28th the following year. With 15 digital sessions over five days, experts from science, politics and the transport sector will present innovative developments around the climate-friendly and everyday mobility of the future. BBE presents the program of the Digital Congress:

According to the German government, the transport sector should emit 40 percent less CO₂ in 2030 than in 2020. Such a high reduction cannot be achieved with electrification alone. A switch to alternative, climate-friendly fuels is also necessary. Possible renewable fuels could include biodiesel, bioethanol or biomethane, while e-fuels from wind, solar and bioenergy also open up new possibilities. There is sustainable potential in maritime and air freight. During the congress, speakers from all over Europe will present advanced technologies as well as outlooks and limits of their use in their 20-minute presentations.

The program of the digitally led event also includes a panel discussion, in which in particularly the Green Deal and the new directives and regulations of the European Commission in the "Fit for 55" package will be discussed. In total, participants can choose from 60 presentations. The lectures will be shown as a video stream on the Internet. The bilingual implementation enables international participation. A lively exchange of information will be facilitated by a question and answer session following each presentation. The first session will begin at 10:00 a.m. on January 24, and at 9:00 a.m. on the other days of the congress.

The Renewable Mobility Congress is organized by the German Bioenergy Association, the Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants (UFOP), the German Bioethanol Industry Association. (BDBe), the Association of the German Biofuel Industry (VDB) and the German Biogas Association (FvB). Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank is sponsoring the event.
