To complement its global growth strategy, Retarus has expanded its presence into the Swiss market. In addition to the Swiss subsidiary’s base in Frauenfeld, the enterprise cloud provider is now also represented in Geneva. As Head of Sales Romandy, Christian Wietbrok will be responsible for regional sales and customer service.

Retarus has been building a strong customer base in Switzerland for many years. This continuous growth can largely be attributed to their offering of Swiss-made services which fulfill the most stringent requirements for data protection and security, such as those required by the GDPR and audited according to SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II. Additionally, Retarus specifically relies on local processing. In accordance with the recommendations of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Commissioner, the data belonging to Swiss companies and their communication partners is processed in an audit-ready data center in Switzerland, run by Retarus itself and certified according to ISO 27001 and other relevant standards. Now Retarus is expanding its presence in Switzerland to provide customers in the French-speaking part of the country with the best possible service.

Closer proximity to the customer and enhanced service

Based in Geneva, Christian Wietbrok (47) is highly knowledgeable when it comes to the needs of companies based in western Switzerland. For more than 15 years, Wietbrok has been working successfully in the IT sector as a business and sales consultant for security services, advising companies on their digital transformation. Prior to joining Retarus, Wietbrok held senior positions of responsibility at several renowned companies, including Asecus AG, Lexmark, McAfee and Verizon Business.

“I’m glad that in Christian Wietbrok we have gained a highly experienced, professional sales expert to now represent Retarus in Romandy”, says Martin Hager, Founder and CEO at Retarus. “As a European company, we appreciate the cultural differences across various regions and invest in local sales and support for our customers. We have confidence in the market and create jobs locally. In this way, Retarus is able take on board any particularities which may exist in the various market sectors in western Switzerland.”

Christian Wietbrok adds: “I am convinced that Retarus has enormous potential for growth in Romandy. Running our own data center in Switzerland and offering Swiss-made services are powerful selling points here. This is especially true for the financial and healthcare sectors as well as for large, globally active organizations. The fact that many of the big players in these sectors are already Retarus customers around the globe speaks for itself.”
