Long programming times can influence and slow down entire production processes. As soon as several machines within the process require a different runtime, the costs within the production increase. This is one of the challenges that ProMik has adressed. For this purpose, the family-owned company has developed a new Multi Standard Programmer (MSP). Benefit from maximum performance, flexibility, sustainable cost efficiency and homogenity.

ProMik®’s MSP family gets a new addition: The new High-Speed In-System Programmer enables the shortest programming times of the MSP series so far by reaching the physical flash speed of the microcontroller. Combined with the new power supply concept and automotive interfaces, the MSP2300Net is described as the "most powerful system for parallel programming and testing on the test and measurement market". Thus, ProMik follows the developments in automotive electronics production and substantiates new innovations.

The In-System Programmer is designed to comprehensively cover the toolchain of electronics manufacturing by combining all test and programming requirements in one product. The Multi Standard Programmer can be used for flashing via test points as well as for flashing via automotive interfaces. In addition, the High-Speed Boundary Scan and the SMART-ICT function can be used. The range of these features makes it ideal for parallel programming and testing.

During programming the customer has maximum flexibilities

One of the special features of the MSP2300NET is the integrated Linux-based operating system, which enables highly efficient process control. This makes it possible to process large amounts of data on the system with high performance. The hardware platform of the MSP2300NET is based on the multicore processor of the Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ SoC series. The host Ethernet uplink supports Gigabit speeds.

With 24 configurable I/Os, the In-System Programmer supports the largest number of parallel programmable MCUs to date. Each signal line is provided with a dedicated ground line for twisted pair wiring to ensure highest signal integrity. The flexibility of the freely configurable I/Os supports any combination of different hardware interfaces. Such mixed high-speed target interfaces can be combined in practice from JTAG, QSPI and SWD, for example. In general, the MSP2300NET supports all common semiconductor manufacturers and microcontroller interfaces. Thus the targets of the MSP2300NET can be configured in different ways and enable greater flexibility and homogeneity in the toolchain, since it is possible to fall back on a standard product.

In addition, the MSP2300NET has various automotive interfaces, namely: 4x CAN FD, 2x Ethernet 100/1000BASE-T1, 4x LIN, as well as a USB3 high-speed port for data download at the PCB. The USB3 high-speed port and the Ethernet interface can further reduce the production times at the flash process.

Current and voltage measurement and supply technology

The MSP2300NET is equipped with a target power supply. For users, this has the advantage that no extra equipment is required, which has to be synchronized at great expense in terms of time and money. Instead, the power supply for the application is already integrated. The feature also enables higher process reliability and a simplified power sequence. Components of the power source include four channels for a high-range target power supply, as well as four channels for a low-range target power supply. While the high-range supply provides a voltage of 2.7 < U < 14.0V with a continuous current limit of 500mA < I < 1.5A, the low-range target power supply operates at lower voltages. Namely, from 1.5 < U < 5.5V with a current limit of 300mA. With these wide voltage ranges, all applications can be powered according to customer requirements.

The MSP2300NET also offers the possibility to perform a current and voltage measurement. For this purpose, the In-System Programmer has eight channels for voltage monitoring with a measurement tolerance of +/- 10mV including the monitoring of voltage dips (brownout detection). The highly precise current measurement is carried out with a measurement deviation of only +/- 1mA. So customers can be sure that the MSP2300NET will provide accurate and reliable measurement results. In addition, the integrated measurement function of the in-system programmer eliminates the need for additional equipment.
To serve as a complement and enhancement to ProMik® programming stations, the MSP2300NET is compatible with the 19“ rack. Thus, it can be retrofitted without any modification to the station. The MSP2300NET is also available as a desktop unit.

This range of different possibilities for using the MSP2300NET and its high-performance features make it ProMik®’s most flexible and powerful Multi Standard Programmer to date. With it production times can be reduced to a minimum and thus also time and costs can be saved.
