• Energy consumption of E.ON buildings to be reduced by at least 20 percent
• Employees move together, parts of the building are closed

This winter, every kilowatt hour counts to reduce electricity and gas consumption. E.ON will therefore reduce the energy consumption of its own buildings by at least 20 percent on average.

Across all locations in Germany, E.ON will operate all non-essential light sources such as logos and outdoor lighting on a limited basis or switch them off completely. The room temperature will be reduced to 19 degrees and hot water will be switched off wherever possible. A particularly effective measure is to shut down entire parts of the building and only heat them in such a way that the building and infrastructure are not damaged. The staff of different departments have therefore already moved together at the beginning of October or will do so shortly. This applies to the entire heating period until mid-April. These measures are intended to achieve energy savings of 25 percent at the Essen site in the company headquarters, for example.

Even before the current developments, E.ON had planned to operate its own buildings in a climate-neutral way by 2030. To achieve this, the company is already making the energy and heat supply at its sites as efficient as possible, using smart technologies and constantly optimising building technology. In addition, E.ON is gradually converting its buildings to green electricity and heat.
