A large proportion of all injection molds produced by the automotive supplier, which operates at twelve locations worldwide, are built and serviced at Swoboda’s Fürth plant. For almost a year now, the company has been making its expertise in injection molds available to external customers. As part of a supplier evaluation, Swoboda moldmakers recently achieved an overall score of 93 points with a final grade of A.

"We are pleased about the very good rating and the demand, also from the automotive sector," says plant manager Florian Kohl, who with his team has already built new molds and various components as well as realized maintenance orders. The inquiries from potential customers from various segments of the industry who want to use the knowledge that has grown over decades are continuously increasing.

This iknowledge ncludes developing, designing, and constructing injection molding tools as well as finishing and repairing existing tools or those acquired elsewhere. Swoboda Fürth also handles project management, contract manufacturing, servicing, and maintenance tasks.

The Fürth site, which employs 35 people, came into being in late 2014 following the acquisition of an experienced tool maker. Two years later, it moved into a new, state-of-the-art building and was expanded. The company joined the “Marktspiegel Werkzeugbau” cooperative for the tool making industry in 2020. Earlier this year, it also began training tool makers specializing in mold engineering.

Swoboda geared itself up for the technological transformation in the automotive industry at an early stage and is playing an active role in its development. The technology firm intends to play an even stronger role in the complete development of sensor, electronic and actuator systems in the future.
