Ariake, Japan’s leading company of livestock-derived natural seasonings and active on two continents, is the first in Belgium to fill food products aseptically in SIG carton packs. Ariake will grow its broth portfolio with a new range of premium liquid broths packaged in SIG Slimline carton packs.

With the recent installation of a SIG Slimline 12 Aseptic flexible filling machine at Ariake’s production site in Maasmechelen (Belgium), the company is adding aseptically packed liquid broth to its broth portfolio. Ariake’s premium liquid broths in SIG carton packs will first come to the French market in November 2023, with Belgium expected to follow soon.

SIG’s filling technology has enabled Ariake Europe to enter the aseptic food business for the first time – a decisive step forward for the company’s future product portfolio. Ariake has a traditionally high-quality reputation in everything it does and has chosen SIG as the perfect strategic partner for this pivotal launch.

Liquid food products aseptically filled in carton packs from SIG offer significant advantages. They retain the premium quality, taste, and aroma of the product and all its natural nutrients, vitamins, flavors, and colors. The packaging material blocks light and air to ensure products can be stored for a long time without the need for refrigeration or preservatives. Carton packs are also unbreakable, lightweight, and hugely convenient thanks to their rectangular shape, making them unbeatably efficient for transport and distribution. They are also among the most sustainable packaging solutions* and come in trendy designs.

“Our important partnership with SIG has enabled us to diversify our premium range of broths and to launch aseptically packed liquid broths to the market for the first time. Choosing SIG’s filling and packaging technology has opened-up new retail opportunities for our top-quality products and will help us to reach new consumers, stand out on shelf and achieve profitable growth. SIG’s flexible filling technology will also allow us to adapt to market changes and react quickly to changing consumer preferences and behavior,” says Sven Glibert, Junior Plant Manager at Ariake Europe.

SIG’s state-of-the-art SIG Slimline 12 Aseptic filling machine can aseptically fill 12,000 carton packs per hour in different volume sizes from 500 ml to 1,100 ml.

“It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with the team at Ariake Europe and now they are the first company in Belgium to fill liquid food products in our aseptic carton packs. Ariake was particularly convinced by the unique filling and sleeve technology offered by SIG and is now set up to launch new and exciting liquid food products in the future,” says Sonia Voicu, Marketing Manager BeNeLux & France at SIG.
