Secure gateways are used to protect against unauthorised access to a vehicle, but also make regularly required diagnostic access more complicated. With its Secure Gateway Portal for the established W.EASY diagnosis system, WABCOWÜRTH is paving the way for simple, secure and manufacturer-compliant access to commercial vehicle electronics – now and in the future.

Being armed against cyber threats – this is no longer just relevant on computers, but also in modern (commercial) vehicles. With increasing technology content "on the move", manufacturers are being asked to secure their trucks, vans and buses against unauthorised access. Secure Gateway solutions are already available for this purpose in many vehicle systems and hardly any commercial vehicles will be without them in the future. Seamlessly integrated into the W.EASY cosmos, WABCOWÜRTH has developed a simple and secure portal solution as the key to tightened cyber security measures: the WABCOWÜRTH Secure Gateway Portal (SGP).

On the safe side: OEM-compliant multi-brand diagnostics

The WABCOWÜRTH Secure Gateway Portal was developed at the beginning of 2023 as a new feature for the tried-and-tested W.EASY software. A particular focus of the portal is its cross-manufacturer functionality. WABCOWÜRTH attaches great importance to direct cooperation with the vehicle manufacturers and to the guideline-compliant diagnosis of the respective vehicle software. The range of manufacturers is growing steadily – after IVECO last year came Volkswagen light commercial vehicles in 2024.

Workshops and mechatronics engineers can use the portal to access vehicles from Fiat, Volkswagen and IVECO particularly easily and intuitively. Collaboration with other vehicle brands is already underway, including on the integration of Renault vans in the future. After registration, all available vehicle manufacturers are listed in the WABCOWÜRTH portal. With an active licence, Volkswagen and Fiat can be selected directly.

IVECO exclusive: the only approved Secure Gateway solution

Compared to other manufacturers, IVECO requires a paid licence, which is available from WABCOWÜRTH. With the aim of offering customers only secure and adequate solutions, WABCOWÜRTH relies on the Secure Gateway Licence for IVECO.

This licence is the only Secure Gateway access approved by IVECO. Compared to alternative solutions, this covers the complete range of protected IVECO models via the WABCOWÜRTH Secure Gateway Portal.

W.EASY with portal: proven system with a pioneering feature

Since 2010, the W.EASY solution has stood for reliable, intuitive and needs-based commercial vehicle diagnostics – from vans and buses to 40-tonne articulated vehicles. The WABCOWÜRTH diagnostic software is often an integral part of commercial vehicle maintenance in workshops, haulage companies and municipal operations.

As a renowned provider of vehicle diagnostics solutions, WABCOWÜRTH not only ensures that its products and services are manufacturer-compliant, but also that they are up to date and continue to develop. While users with a valid diagnostic licence enjoy the familiar clear and simple user interface of the W.EASY software design, the Secure Gateway Portal also opens up new possibilities for the future. As well as being easy to use, the administration is also extremely practical: With just one account, several users can be added and make use of the access conveniently at any time – with minimal dispersion of sensitive customer data.
