Combined values for Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric according to WLTP3: energy consumption 15.6-15.8 kWh/100 km, CO2 emissions 0 g/km; CO2 label: A.
Emotional design, clever technologies, proven practicality and plenty of driving pleasure. The new Opel Astra Sports Tourer proves: this is what ‘Made in Germany’ is all about! Alongside the current cross-media campaign, the latest version of the compact-class bestseller also demonstrates: this is what efficiency is all about! At the recent international dynamic launch, the Astra Sports Tourer Electric fleet consumed an average of just 15.7 kWh of electricity per 100 kilometres. This means the new all-electric estate – designed, developed and built at Opel’s headquarters in Rüsselsheim – is exactly in line with the official WLTP consumption figures3, even during real-world test drives on challenging routes.
“Our new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric demonstrates that electric mobility is efficient and suitable for everyday use, whilst also delivering plenty of driving pleasure. This is ensured by state-of-the-art, locally emissions-free drive technology, as well as comfortable handling and driving characteristics. With this perfect package, the new Astra Sports Tourer Electric achieves exemplary energy consumption figures that will delight customers,” said Marcus Lott, Member of the Opel Executive Committee and Senior Vice President Stellantis Lead Engineering Central Europe.
15.7 kWh/100 km: Exemplary consumption figures under challenging conditions
The international dynamic launch and drive event usually represents an important external real-world test for a new model. This was also the case for the new Opel Astra and Opel Astra Sports Tourer. Journalists from 22 countries recently travelled to Croatia to experience the further-developed and freshly designed compact-class model from Rüsselsheim and to put it through its paces. In addition to the other powertrain options, the focus was particularly on the battery-electric Astra Sports Tourer Electric.
Over the course of around 200 test drives across Dalmatia, the journalists covered a total of more than 14,000 kilometres in the electric estates – with impressive results. For alongside its sporty yet comfortable driving characteristics, the Astra Sports Tourer Electric particularly excels in terms of highly efficient energy consumption. The average consumption figure calculated after all test drives is 15.7 kWh per 100 kilometres. This corresponds exactly to the official WLTP figures3 of 15.6-15.8 kWh per 100 kilometres.
The key difference: In Croatia, the tests were not carried out according to a fixed test pattern, but under real-world – and at times adverse – conditions. Media representatives drove the Astra Sports Tourer Electric fleet along challenging routes on town and country roads, past coastal towns and through winding mountain roads. All this under fluctuating temperatures and weather conditions. It is all the more impressive, then, that the Astra Sports Tourer Electric proves its efficiency even under these circumstances.
This exemplary efficiency also benefits all customers who wish to cover longer distances in the electric estate, whether in their daily lives or on holiday trips. The 115 kW (156 hp) Astra Sports Tourer Electric with its 58 kWh battery (55 kWh usable capacity) and thanks to further aerodynamic fine-tuning now enables a locally emissions-free range of up to 445 kilometres (WLTP1) – allowing Astra Sports Tourer Electric drivers to travel around 35 kilometres further than before until the first charging stop. This means that the all-electric compact class bestseller offers driving pleasure with responsibility. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited to 170 km/h. Furthermore, the maximum torque of 270 Newton meters, available from the first touch of the pedal, adds to the driving pleasure.
In addition, there are new features that enhance the Astra Sports Tourer Electric’s practicality even further: The all-electric estate offers V2L – Vehicle to Load – and thus the possibility of charging external devices such as e-bikes or the like at the holiday destination without having to rely on other power sources for the first time. Furthermore, the battery can be pre-conditioned via the cabin. Taken all these features, the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric demonstrates: this is what efficient, comfortable and dynamic electric driving pleasure made in Germany is all about!
