Laser marking is a central component of modern production processes. It influences not only the quality of the marking, but also component properties, cycle times, data flows and safety in the production environment. A high-performance marking solution therefore always results from precise technical design and optimal integration into the entire manufacturing process.

BORRIES Markier-Systeme GmbH has been developing industrial marking solutions for decades. The company has been working with laser marking technology since 1970 and has specifically refined it in recent years – with a focus on industrial requirements and flexible integration options.

The BORRIES BLM OEM is a compact laser built-in and integration unit. The system can be integrated directly into existing production facilities as an OEM laser. Alternatively, it can be used as a standalone solution or as part of a complete marking station, including fixtures and safety technology.

Application-oriented system design

Each laser marking system is designed to meet specific application requirements. Factors such as material properties, marking requirements, cycle times and economic conditions are taken into account. The aim is to deliver a marking solution that is consistently stable and reliable.

All laser systems meet functional safety requirements and are designed in accordance with EN ISO 13849. Integrated safety concepts enable Performance Level PLe, Category 4, thereby ensuring a high level of plant and operator safety.

Easy integration into existing systems

For integration into industrial production environments, the systems feature standard interfaces such as Ethernet or Profinet. In addition, a fieldbus connection enables direct communication with higher-level PLC controllers.

The safety design of the systems is structured in such a way that the laser can be easily integrated into existing safety concepts. As is customary with OEM components, overall responsibility for system safety remains with the system manufacturer or operator.

BORRIES offers optional application-specific protection solutions, such as interchangeable protective tubes that come into contact with the workpiece. These specifically isolate the laser beam from the surroundings during marking, thereby facilitating integration into existing system layouts.

In addition to OEM laser systems, BORRIES also implements complete marking workstations or system solutions for companies requiring a turnkey marking solution.

The aim is to work with the customer to develop a technically sophisticated and long-term reliable marking process – from the integration unit to the complete marking solution.
