HARTING, the Industrie 4.0 pioneer, vows to contribute to the smart manufacturing development in China as founding member of the Robotation Academy Foshan. The opening ceremony is today (12 October 2017), which will be held together with the opening of the third ‘Internet Plus’ Exhibition.

The city of Foshan, located in the Province of Guangdong, has developed to one of China’s leading industrial hubs. Extending the success of the robotation academy at the HANNOVER MESSE Germany the new Robotation Academy in Foshan will bring together 21 partner companies in the fields of robotics, automation and Industrie 4.0. The Academy sets its focus providing trainings, conferences and presentations on future technology trends for companies in the Guangdong region.

Smart manufacturing is evolving rapidly fuelled by intelligent, interconnected systems. In this new manufacturing era, process digitalisation will play an increasingly important role in helping manufacturers to monitor and visualize physical processes. HARTING will be demonstrating its HARTING MICA (Modular Industry Computing Architecture) at the Robotation Academy.  MICA provides a quick and easy solution for implementing digitalisation projects directly at facilities and machines. With its modular open platform, the HARTING MICA can be customised with custom hardware, software and interfaces – to suit customers’ individual requirements for Integrated Industry. This pioneering concept enables customers to transform creative ideas into innovative solutions and to digitalise processes. HARTING will show in Foshan especially applications how the MICA can be used in a brownfield environment to digitalise processes.

The new partnership demonstrates HARTING’s commitment to promote and develop intelligent manufacturing in China. In the next two years, the Chinese government will be inviting all manufacturing companies in South China to attend conferences, training sessions and networking events at the Robotation Academy. The largest Chinese training programme for automation, robotics and Industrie 4.0 is also set to take place in Foshan. The aim of the Chinese government is to host approximately 200 conferences and 200 training events in cooperation with the Robotation Academy.

The Robotation Academy Foshan, located at Guangdong Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center (GICEC), was brand licensed by the umbrella organization Deutsche Messe Technology Academy (DMTAG) in Hannover. Therefore, the Robotation Academy Foshan is jointly operated by GICEC and DMTAG.

“The academy is a great platform for HARTING’s employees and customers to implement technological theory into practice”, Ellen McMillan, General Manager, HARTING Greater China, stated out. “The partnership with the Robotation Academy in Foshan will give HARTING an opportunity to enrich the knowledge and technologies of smart manufacturing in South China, a key region for HARTING.”
