ODU is expanding its MEDI-SNAP® plastic portfolio to include a new, readily overmolded Break-Away connector. Immediately usable, this system solution particularly excels through its intuitive handling.

The ODU MEDI-SNAP® portfolio is now complemented by this overmolded Break-Away connector with plastic housing that can be securely mated for up to 2,000 mating cycles. Until now, the notable feature of this connector has been its Push-Pull solutions, which can be assembled in a particularly flexible manner.

The new connector’s Break-Away function guarantees that the connection can be immediately released if necessary. Particularly in medical technology, an emergency release of this kind is a must-have, particularly in life-threatening situations. Above and beyond this function, the connector is able to satisfy the requirements of applications in the industrial sector as well as from the test and measurement area concerning the transmission of power.

Wider varieties for higher performance

With the addition of a size-2 version, the Break-Away connector becomes significantly more powerful: It’s now able to transmit higher currents and voltages of up to 16 A and 250 V. Thanks to its wider cross-section, it also offers sufficient space for up to 26 contacts.

The ODU MEDI-SNAP® is 75 percent lighter than comparable metal connectors and especially efficient thanks to its ease of installation. The space-saving design maximizes installation space efficiency and high chemical resistance and sterilizability ensures usability even under the harshest environmental conditions. Further new cable mount female receptacle solutions enable the realization of IP 67 cable connections. The new connector series provides the ideal solution for a wide range of applications.

Benefitting from ODU’s system approach – ease and efficiency combined
