HARTING will team with system partners to present applications for IIoT and Industrie 4.0 based on the MICA Edge Computing System at this year’s SPS IPC Drives Fair in Nuremberg (28 to 30 November, Hall 10 / Stand 140).

HARTING will focus on solutions featuring individual function boards of the MICA, which makes it extremely easy to implement industrial fieldbus interfaces and wireless communication. In addition to Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP and Modbus RTU/TCP, a MICA version for IO-Link from the new MICA.network partner TE Concept will be presented for the first time. MICA.network now includes 24 partner companies. The companies present on the webpage www.mica.network 28 use cases with MICA for different applications for Industrie 4.0. The community wants to expand international. MICA.network has the focus on Great Britain, Spain, USA and China.

Krumedia and EPS Energy offer a simple energy management solution for small and medium-size enterprises (SME) based on the MICA that meets EN 50001. The package contains current sensors up to 400A for direct connection (modbus, S0) to the MICA Energy. Additional metering is not required. The hardware is preconfigured and can be quickly and easily installed in almost any industrial environment. The associated enerchart™ Cloud energy management software can be expensed with current billing models such as PayPal™, advance payment, SEPA direct debit or invoice as SaaS (software as a service). Contractual adjustments to current requirements such as additional data points or termination of service can be made on a monthly basis.

Security gateway for E-mobility charging stations

For e-mobility applications, Infotecs, a Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence provider, is presenting its integrated security solution designed to protect e-charger infrastructures against cyberattacks. Using the MICA platform as a basis, Infotecs provides a security gateway integrated into the EV charging station which secures authentication processes and data transmission over the entire route to the back-end system, thus preventing unauthorised reading of data. It does not matter whether the data originate in the internal hardware of charging systems (e.g. meters, charge controllers, user interface module) or in another MICA container with additional control and analysis logic. Data are always transferred to remote sites via the internet and secured against manipulation.

Distributed condition monitoring for CNC and injection moulding machines

SDI Innovation presents its new software tool "Bluebox.sdi" for monitoring, visualisation and analysis of actual and target states of production systems such as CNC processing centres, injection moulding machines and production lines. The tool includes pre-built applications such as TPM, OEE calculations, and trend analysis. Analysis takes into consideration both the order as well as time factors. Installed on the MICA, Bluebox.sdi can be used in distributed fashion, simply and quickly in production, and is also Cloud and web-enabled. Users have the capability to upgrade, customise and configure the system themselves. SDI Innovation provides training and turnkey implementation, including electronic work, programming and software integration.

Asset Tracking with LoRa and RFID

comtac AG is presenting its solution for wireless asset tracking and condition monitoring via LoRa™ networks. LoRa is one of the LPN Low Power Network technologies which enable wireless sensor data to be read over large distances. comtac uses MICA as an outdoor LoRa™ Base Station and also offers solutions for private LoRa networks and OPC UA connectivity. At the stand, AKQUINET will use a temperature monitoring setup to demonstrate how sensor data and Cloud-based services work together to perform remote monitoring and predictive maintenance.
