Amazon’s largest advertising partner and leading software solution for brands and agencies, Sellics, has hired Google advertising veteran Thomas Ropel as Chief Marketing Officer and SaaS architect David Iankelevich as General Manager North America, Sellics announced today.

Sellics manages billions of dollars in Amazon ad revenue for clients like Bosch and Brita. More than 4,000 clients — brands and agencies — use Sellics software to handle Amazon ad campaigns, SEO and content optimization, profit and business analysis, and more.

“Advertising is one of the most important services we provide our brand and agency clients,” said Sellics CEO Franz Jordan. “Thomas’s experience with leading go-to-market strategies for Google’s emerging advertising solutions gives him unique insights into the advertising ecosystem. He has worked directly with brands and agencies to address their needs, and fully understands how they can leverage new digital marketing channels to boost their growth. David on the other hand is a true eCommerce thought leader who has shaped eMarketer.  The Amazon and eCommerce space is still in its early days, and we are excited to have two great leaders onboard, helping thousands of brands and agencies to succeed in eCommerce across the world."

“Amazon is the future of eCommerce and eCommerce is the future of retail. For brands in particular, presence in this distribution channel is essential for success. Sellics’s eCommerce growth software offers brands and agencies all they need to succeed on Amazon, merging traditionally separated disciplines like SEO & SEM into one powerful, innovative solution for driving growth,” says Ropel. “That and a fantastic, passionate team who wants to reshape eCommerce makes Sellics one of the most exciting companies in the industry.”

Before joining Sellics, Ropel spent almost a decade at Google. Most recently, he led go-to-market strategies for emerging advertising solutions in EMEA. Prior to that, he ran his own SEO & SEM-focused online-marketing agency and worked as head of marketing for several startups. Ropel is also deeply passionate about wildlife conservation and is one of the founding members of the Now or Never African Wildlife Trust, which works to save rhinos and elephants in Africa.

David Iankelevich, the new General Manager North America, leads the Sellics team in New York in order to strengthen and strategically expand Sellics’s business. North America is already the largest market for the all-in-one software solution for Amazon.

Iankelevich has nearly 20 years of experience building and leading high performing SaaS organizations. Most recently, he led eMarketer’s sales and marketing operations, guiding the company to a successful sale to Axel-Springer for more than $250 million.
