• Jens Graefe will assume responsibility for the newly created position of Managing Director Business Development on 1 May
  • Before joining trans-o-flex, Graefe worked for pharmaceutical wholesalers AEP and Celesio (McKesson Europe), among others.

Jens Graefe (53) will be joining the management team at the express service provider trans-o-flex, which specialises in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and other sensitive goods sectors, from 1 May 2021. The experienced pharmaceutical logistics expert will be assuming responsibility for the newly created position of Managing Director Business Development. "trans-o-flex has by no means exhausted its growth potential," says Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of the company. "With the appointment of Graefe, we are setting the stage in management for the company’s continued growth." According to Albeck, Graefe will specifically develop further market niches for trans-o-flex. "This is not about us diluting our sector specialisation and becoming a parcel service for everything," Albeck emphasises. "Instead, we aim to leverage our proven specialised competencies to unlock profitable growth potential with our core customer base as well as in adjacent areas."

Graefe comes from the nationwide pharmaceutical wholesaler AEP, which he built up as CEO from October 2012. Prior to this, Graefe worked for several years as Head of M&A and Business Development for the Stuttgart-based pharmaceutical wholesaler Celesio (now McKesson Europe) and worked for several consulting firms. During his last post at AEP, he got to know the service provided by trans-o-flex very closely from the customer’s point of view, because the wholesaler supplies all pharmacies in Germany overnight from a central warehouse. Collection and nationwide distribution before 12 noon on the next business day is handled by trans-o-flex. "trans-o-flex proves on a daily basis just how efficient the network is and has developed extremely positively in the last three years," says Graefe. "That’s why I’m looking forward to the opportunity to harness the many strengths of this company for other areas as well, and thus to further expand trans-o-flex’s position in the German and European market."
