The FilterMaster system gently and cost-effectively cleans even heavily contaminated exhaust particulate filters and catalytic converters. Because of the steadily increasing of deposits in exhaust gas purification systems with SCR technology, problems with faulty AdBlue dosing are becoming more and more common.

Customers are increasingly approaching Kipp Umwelttechnik to clean catalytic converters and exhaust boxes contaminated with heavy residues.

For this purpose, Kipp Umwelttechnik has developed an efficient and at the same time gentle additional cleaning stage for the FilterMaster.

The deposits caused by overdosing of the reduction agent AdBlue can accumulate until the exhaust gas paths are completely blocked. This condition can be caused by sensor faults or unfavorable operating conditions and develops over longer periods of time. After the cause is eliminated, the problem of existing deposits remains. Since the deposits, consisting mainly of urea and its various chemical modifications, would release considerable amounts of ammonia in a thermal cleaning process, a simple burnout without special safety/environmental protection measures is out of the question here. This would also not achieve residue-free cleaning.

The FilterMaster process was further developed and extended with the additional steps.

Cleaning the exhaust box shown in the picture above only extends the cleaning time by about 1 hour. Therefore, the principle still applies to these filters: brought in the morning, ready for transport again in the afternoon.
